I'm a big Fabio Capello fan. After reading, watch highlights of his career, interviews and things that other people have said about Capello (Thinking about Ibrahimovic at Juve). Capello is often described as a "Rigid defensive coach" who likes to counter attack with his teams, Also there is not much on the internet about Capello's tactics (except from critics who think his tactics are to rigid). However this is not the whole truth feel free to discuss....

My sources about Capello

I think FM14 is the toughest edition yet to try and replicate tactics. In doing some research most sites basically say he uses a strict approach. So in FM terms I would probably think of using very rigid style and maybe tell my players to be more disciplined a long with either control, counter or defensive as my mentality.

It would probably be best to play with just the one striker as nowadays that's how you need to play if you expect to hold any form of possession. You would also need a very disciplined and professional squad so don't expect to see your vision in your first season. You must also remember that Capello's style of play caused him to receive criticism at some of the jobs he had.

Capello's style from the beginning WIKI

Read this so you can see how he started out and adapted as his career progressed.

Good luck.
Looks good, if you're going to be making good use of the flanks then I advice you get the best wingers and full backs available, preferably with a lot of pace for the games you have to counter attack in. I think using play narrower and exploit the flanks might contradict each other? Maybe I'm wrong. If you feel you're giving away too many free kicks maybe swap get stuck in with stay on feet, works for me.

Good luck.
