After masterminding last year's Serie B championship team and promotion to Serie A, Sassuolo manager Eusebio Di Francesco has been fired in a curveball move by the board! The Sassuolo players and fans are shocked, and feel angry and distrustful of the board. "Why would the board sack the most successful manager we've ever had?" is a common sentiment around the club. The board must have something massive up their sleeve in order to do this, but for now everyone is angered and it'll take a genius to get the club turned around again.
Good luck :)
Gonna be a great team to manage, particularly the likes of Berardi and Zaza, in your first season at least. And, if nothing else, you've got the legend Antonio Floro Flores xD
Good luck!

Good Luck man!

Nathan Limior Hired by Sassuolo

In a shocking appointment, Sassuolo has hired a 39 year old American named Nathan Limior with no prior managerial experience, although he is a former professional player and was a part of Jurgen Klinsmann's backroom staff at the US national team. Sassuolo was rumored to hire a big name manager, but instead hired Limior, who allegedly wowed the Sassuolo board during his interview. Limior said at the press conference that he was honored to be hired as Sassuolo's manager, and that he understands the disappointment at Sassuolo at the prior manager's sacking, but that he was hired to do a job and Sassuolo players and supporters won't be disappointed at him.
Can't wait for this! :D
Good luck, I will be following this intently!
Good luck, eb :)
I love Serie A so I'll definitely be following! :D

Sassuolo
Preseason 2013

Cercle Brugge 0 - 4 Sassuolo

Liege 0 - 4 Sassuolo

- John Mensah will go on trial with us until the end of the preseason. Since we don't have much money left in our budget, potential signings will have to be trialed first.

Castel Rigone 0 - 2 Sassuolo

Sassuolo 1 - 3 Besiktas

TIM Cup 3rd Qualifying Round

Sassuolo 3 - 0 Avellino

(I'll post some news stories to complement this update tomorrow, but I'm kind of tired so I'm putting this up as a teaser.)

Sassuolo Mood Cautiously Optimistic

Nothing will replace the spirit of Eusebio Di Francesco, but Nathan Limior is doing his best to come close. After initial skepticism of an unproven American manager, the fans and players are cautiously optimistic, but the key word is still "cautiously". Other than a 3-1 home loss to Besiktas, Sassuolo were undefeated this preseason, but things change once live fire starts getting traded and teams start going through the rigors of league play.
Great pre-season, especially the big wins v the two Belgian teams
Nice start
Sorry guys, I got caught up in some other stuff (Pokemon Bank came out in the US and I made a mad rush to get all the legendaries before my free trial ended and complete my Pokedex), but I don't want to abandon this story so I will continue. Anyway, here's the other two stories I planned to put up:

John Mensah Signed After Successful Trial

Well-traveled defender John Mensah has shown enough to get signed by Sassuolo late in the preseason. He is 30 years old, but still has plenty of ability, experience, has plenty of Serie A, Ligue 1, and Premier League experience, and will provide crucial depth for a team that needs stability in the back line in order to stay up.

Three Players to Watch: Sassuolo

Although Sassuolo will have a fight to stay up, they have plenty of tools to do so. Here are the top 3 players to watch:

1. Matias Ezequiel Schelotto (right wing back( - This Inter loanee will be the key player on the right side of the pitch to set up the attack. Not only is he probably the fastest wing back in the world, he is tireless and has a high motor, so he can be depended on to play a full game. He will make opposing fullbacks cry with his ability.

2. Simone Zaza (striker) - He is a highly creative poacher with the ability to put the ball where it needs to go. He will be depended on to finish the chances others create for him.

3. Luca Marrone (defensive midfielder) - While Nathan Limior seems to have installed a possession-based system for Sassuolo, he has entrusted Luca Marrone to be the linchpin through the center, with permission to distribute the ball where it needs to go with highly creative and spectacular passes.
Welcome back! Schelotto always seemed like the kind of guy who would make the opposition cry with his looks, not his pace ;)
