Karl Robinson: Sheffield United appoint ex-MK Dons boss

Sheffield United have appointed Karl Robinson as their new manager on a one year deal.
The 33-year-old replaces David Weir, who left Bramall Lane on Monday after a turbulent time in charge.

Robinson resigned from his post at MK Dons last month and will take charge of Sheffield United for the first time in the friendly against Hamilton on Saturday.

Sheffield United co-chairman Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud told the club website: "Karl was the clear, first choice of the board. He brings an approach to the game that is well suited to what we are trying to achieve at Sheffield United. He has done a fantastic job at MK Dons.

Robinson was appointed manager of League One team Milton Keynes Dons on 10 May 2010, having previously been the club's assistant manager under previous boss Paul Ince. At 30 years of age, he was the youngest manager at the time in the Football League and former England coach John Gorman was named his number two. At the age of 29, he was also the youngest person to ever acquire a UEFA Pro Licence.
