*This story will run concurrently with my Liverpool story; I just miss signing players!*

Past Honours
LIGA BBVA:(Runner-up): 2008, (Third-Placed): 2005
LIGA Adelante: (Runner-up): 2000, 2013

In short, from looking over the club's history, Villarreal have never won a major competition; I'm aiming to change that with this story.

Season 2013/14
Expectations

Not much funding there to do anything with, although the expectations aren't greatly taxing; i'm hoping to go above and beyond that this season!

Key Players
Bruno: DM

A great-looking player, who will perform key duties in front of my back four

Mateo Musacchio: DC

One of my favourite players in this game; I signed him in a Southampton save and he was a beast! At only 22, he has years to improve his game, and i'm hoping he remains a key part of the club.

Giovani Dos Santos: AMR

I remember when this guy was touted as one of the game's great wonderkids; despite not living up to his hype, Dos Santos is a solid player, and I reckon he'll do a job on the right wing

Overall, there are some great prospects in the side, with players like Cani, Tomas Pina and Mario also in the squad, and Jonathan de Guzman on loan at Swansea (possibly going to be recalled)

Here's to a good career!

Villarreal Announce Signing

Villareal have today announced the signing of Brazilian forward Guilherme for a fee reported to be around £1.3m, although sources suggest that, subject to conditions, the fee could rise to £2.1m.

Guilherme started his career at Bacabal in 2000, before moving to Real Salvador in 2001, but failed to make any appearances before moving to Cruziero in 2003. The striker made his first team breakthrough in 2007, scoring 10 goals in 26 appearances that season, and following that up with 18 goals in 32 appearances in 2008 before a move to Dynamo Kyiv for the 2008-9 season.

Guilherme only managed 4 goals in 6 appearances over 2 years at Dynamo, before a loan move to CSKA which lasted 2 years, in which he made 17 appearances, scoring 8 goals. He returned to Dynamo for the 2010-11 season, scoring 1 goal in 5 appearances.

Despite his indifferent scoring record in Russia, Guilherme commanded a £5.25m fee when he moved to Atletico Mineiro in 2011. During his 3 year spell at the Brazilian club, he played 72 games, and netted 13 goals before his move to El Madrigal.

Villarreal fans are said to be looking forward to see how their new man performs for the club this season, and will be hoping he can fire them to a great season!

Guilherme Stats.
I'm confident about some good performances from him, really cheap fee. Congrats for the signing!
