Red Devils sack Moyes
Out of a job... after selling 9 players, David Moyes has been sacked in a somewhat predictable move.
After just a few weeks of being Manchester United manager, David Moyes' contract at Old Trafford has been terminated with immediate effect - and, after the impact Moyes has made on the team in the very short time he's been at United, it's hardly very surprising. However, it does leave a job for the Red Devils, as they must search for a new manager and find one very quickly...
In the few weeks Moyes has been at the Manchester club, he sold 9 first team players for a total fee of 126.5m - even selling a player to close rivals Manchester City - and it has left holes in the team already. So, whoever is the new manager of Manchester United will have a huge task on their hands.
The first player to leave Old Trafford was Brazilian attacking midfielder Anderson, who left the Red Devils for 5m in order to go to Brazilian giants Corinthians. Anderson was on the transfer list as soon as Moyes took over, so this move is certainly no surprise. The second player leaving Manchester was another South American in Ecuador's winger Antonio Valencia (pictured above), who, surprisingly, leaves for European giants Real Madrid for a fee of 15m - despite the Spaniards already having players like Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco in Valencia's position.
The next player leaving the Red Devils was English centre back Jonny Evans (pictured below), who left the club to join fellow Premier League side Sunderland for a fee of 8m. This move comes as a surprising one, as the Black Cats already had many centre backs, and at this stage United fans were beginning to doubt Moyes.

Following Evans, Anderson and Valencia out of Old Trafford was another Englishman in midfielder Tom Cleverley, who left the Red Devils to join Sky Bet Championship side and future Community Shield opponents Wigan Athletic for a fee of 7.5m, which is believed to be half of the Latics' transfer budget. The fifth player to leave Manchester was Portuguese winger Nani (pictured above), who had been rumoured with an exit since January 2013. Nani leaves United for Portugal's giants Benfica for a respectable fee of 10m.
Leaving the Red Devils next was English winger Ashley Young, who was out of favour with some United fans. Young, pictured above, leaves the club for rivals Manchester City for a total fee of 14m. Young is followed by Mexican forward Javier Hernandez, who has, like Nani, been rumoured with an exit for a long time. Hernandez leaves Manchester for 13m to German side Borussia Dortmund, which the Mexican claimed was "a dream move".

The eighth player to leave Manchester was another Brazilian in full back Rafael, sparking rumours that Fabio would too be leaving the club. However, a deal for Fabio is at the moment non-existant. Rafael leaves the Red Devils for a fee of 20m to French side Paris Saint-Germain, and the move angered many United fans as they believed Rafael to be a good first team player.
The final player leaving Manchester United was English striker Wayne Rooney, who publicly stated he was unhappy at Old Trafford. Rooney leaves the Red Devils for Premier League tite rivals Chelsea, which has angered fans more as they believe Rooney could've moved to a side outside of the Premier League. The fee for the deal was 34m, which is arguably enough to sign a replacement for Rooney alone.
In addition to the 126.5m made from these signings, the next manager will apparently be given an extra 40m at the start anyway, giving the Red Devils a very large budget of 166.5m to sign replacements for these losses. Rumours as to who the next manager will be include legends Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and David Beckham current players Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand, and José Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Luis Felipe Scolari.
