Young Scottish manager Hamilton hired by Celtic F.C

Celtic officials today told sky sports that they have officially signed Hamilton to be there new manager after their previous manager, Neil Lennon, moved down south to find a job at an English club.Hamilton has signed a 1 year rolling contract and will be under huge pressure to reach his goals in order to be offered a contract extension.
The board at celtic are said to be extremely pleased with the speculative signing of Hamilton and they want to assure fans who are in doubt that they have all confidence and faith with hamilton and that they have made sure he is cut out for the job.

This however was unexpected from the celtic board as many were thinking candidates such as Malky Mckay and Martin Oneill were going to be in charge, so this move has came from way left field.Hamilton who was just a coach at the club was in shock when he was given the call to be the manager

Later, Sky Sports chief reporter Bryan Swanson got to talk to Hamilton.

how does it feel to manage your boyhood club?
A; Its a dream come true really, i have always wanted to be in this position.

Have you got in mind the things you want to change at the club, players, staff etc.?
A;No, not at all i think the staff and players are all great and im %100 confident in their abilities.

Can you tell us about any of those signings?
A; Of course not that would silly of me, but i can say that may be a few coming and going.

so to sum up, the new Celtic manager has plans for his club and with rangers out of the league he can concentrate on the champions league which he and his team have to try and qualify for in july/august so it will be a challenge for Hamilton and his young team, only time will tell now
Good luck!

So with Hamilton joining Celtic we thought we would give you the fans a chance to learn about the club Hamilton is coming into.

THE FACILTIES

Celtic are a champions league club and so have some state of the art facilities and also and stellar 60,000 capacity stadium to go along with.

Celtics training ground, lennoxtown, is a state of the art facility placed near to Glasgow.
Has multi surface pitches where the teams can prepare for any type of surface to play on.It also has indoor pitches too if it is impossible to play outside.

Celtic also have a much closer to the stadium training facility which is used on fridays before a matchday on a saturday, thats if they are not playing away. The club also use this as a base for youth teams up to age 10

Celtics stadium has hosted some memorable nights such as the time Tony watt scored against barcelona in the champion league and many players who have played at Celtic park will say how memorable the atmosphere is on these occasions, Many players have been quoted on saying how its one of the best.

Not only does celtic park have one of the best atmospheres around, it also has the best pitch, with the groundsman having won awards for the condition of the pitch

Celtic also has a rich history, being the first British club to win the European Cup.Also they have won the scottish cup. league cup and the league several times, Celtic were founded in 1888 and since has had many top players play for them such as Henrik Larsson who was one of the worlds best players at the time.He went on to play win the champions league with barcelona.

And so Pre season starts for clubs all around the world here are some of the results from celtics games.Celtic are facing qualification for the champions league and so are taking it easyi suppose you could say to ensure that no major injuries occur before the big matches.

Not the most successful pre season but no losses is always a good thing, manager Hamilton cant be too annoyed with that.

TRANSFER CENTER

Today reports coming out of celtic that they may be targeting onform Burnley striker Danny Ings.
He is believed to be in the price range of around £4,000,000. this would mean a huge hit to the piggy banks for Celtic after also having signed recently Stefan Johansen and wolves striker Leigh Griffiths. Ings has been prolific for Burnley the times he has played as Charlie Austin would usually be played a head of him but now that Austin has left for QPR,Ings has shown his worth buy scoring left and right and has also attracted some premier league clubs but this is no suprise due to the form he is in.

also coming out of celtic is that Anthony Stokes may be leaving for a premier league club, our sources have said it may be stoke or Fulham.
This move would make sense as the club are brining in players such as Danny Ings if that turns out to be true it may mean stokes is phased out the side under Hamiltons new regime.

COMMONS IN WEST BROM TALKS

Celtic Fans are in shock today as they hear that their star player Kris Commons has been given permission by the club to speak to West Brom officials.Sources at the club are telling us that the fee will be around 1million pounds if it was to go through.

Commons who arrived at celtic park in 2010 has had a good career at celtic scoring plenty of goals including a great debut goal against Aberdeen in the cup semi final. He has made 65 appearances for the club scoring a total of 23. Many will feel 1 million is not enough for a quality player such as commons but the player is running out of contract and there doesnt seem to be any communication between club and player on signing a new one. Some may have seen this coming as New manager Hamilton has promised that there will be changes within the club.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Daugava VS Celtic

Match Preview:
Celtic were victorious last time and have almost all but ensured there spot in the next qualifying stage.

Daugava will have to throw everything at the bhoys if they are to stand a chance of taking it to extra time, Sky bet has placed celtic at 1-12 not to qualify so it seems very unlikely that they wont win. Celtic need to stay calm and composed and in the mideweek conference Hamilton seemed just that.Hamilton said "the pressure is off and im going to tell the boys to enjoy themselves as it is only going to get harder from here so they should enjoy it whilst they still can."

Team news:
No changes from last weeks game, commons deal still not confirmed so he is not included in the starting 11 tonight again.

RESULT

So it wasnt all plain sailing for Hamiltons boys, they werent under immense pressure but let down their guard for a few seconds which let daugava through to score.

"I have to try live upto the price tag i guess...it will be hard no doubt and the number 7 jersey is so famous at celtic because Larsson and Jimmy Johnstone were just two of the great players who have worn this shirt and scored loads of goals, so yeah its definitely going to be hard but i think im ready".
Nice start to the story and interesting transfers so far. Good luck! ;)

Celtic sign and sell in transfer flurry

Celtic today confirm the sale of Scott Brown to Reading for 3.8 million- this move is a shock as brown has been the captain of the club for a number of years but obviously Hamilton does not see him as a part of the celtic line up and decided to move him on.

Also celtic confirm the sale of out of form Samaras to psv for 1.8-this move was expected as he has been out of favour with the club in general, no one suprised with this one.

Stokes has also been loaned out to fulham will stay there for the rest of the season and possibly permanently if fulham decide to pay the fee of 1.5 million

and lastly Celtic spend 6 million on leicester favourite Anthony Knockaert who has been brought in to replace forrest, knockaert is one of celtics biggest signings and fans are worried he may have been to expensive but the manager Hamilton seems to be very in control and comfortable spending money on these players. He has also proved that he has the tactical ability to make these players work together.
