The Game
8' (0-1) Goal for Serbia. They pass it around outside the box far too easily, it gets put out wide and Meleg puts in a cross that bounces cleanly off Kadrijaj's head and ends up in the back of the net. Another very poor start from us!
10' (1-1) MORRRRRAAATTAAAA!!!!!!! Fantastic header by Morata after a fantastic move from Gerard opened space for a cross, he hit it deep into the back post and Alvaro nods it home, Equaliser!!!!
14' A good move out wide let Jese cut inside, as he did he takes a pop at goal and the ball sizzles just wide.
17' Morata almost nets his second! Deulofeu crosses the ball from near the touchline, it bends into the back post and their keeper tips Alvaros header over. The corner is wipped in by Isco but nothing comes of it.
22' (1-2) Serbia go back out in front. Bad defending from Carvajal lets Milunovic wip in a cross deep into the box and Meleg is there to tap it past Badia.
26' Jese takes a hopeful hit from just outside the box and it is heading into the top corner, but somehow the keeper manages to save it and hold on to it!
33' (2-2) BACK LEVEL!!!! Jese crosses in a ball from the left which floats beautifully to Morata, Alvaro heads it backwards were Deulofeu is running in to tap it into the net. Great teamwork!
36' (3-2) WHAT A GOAL! We make a move from the right. Roberto picks up the ball, cuts inside, lifts it over a defender, accros the edge of the box, and Jese hits one of the sweetest volleys you will ever see into the top corner! Wonderful strike and fantastic vision from Sergi.
40' (4-2) GOOOOALLLL!! Jese runs into the box and squares it across to Deulofeu who slides in to tap the ball into the net. Textbook goal!
HT: I have not got much to say during the half-time interval so I just tell that lads that they are doing well and to push on. This gets a generally good reaction and the lads come out for the second-half looking fired up. I've done my job, now can they do theirs.
46' Almost an early goal. Deulofeu runs down the wing, cuts inside, passes across to Roberto who puts his shot wide. Early pressure is good to see from the lads.
50' OH AMAT HOW!? Deulofeu hits in a fantastic free-kick from 40 yards out, it loops into the back post and Jordi Amat gets his head too far under the ball and lifts it over the bar!
53' Isco isn't having the best game I have ever seen him play. I'm going to have to bring him off for the good of the team, he is going to be replaced by Moi Gomez.
57' (5-2) ALLLLLLVARO!!!! Deulofeu hits in a corner that gets scrambled around the penalty area, it falls to Morata who keeps a calm head and slots it home!
67' OH NO!!!! Gerard Deulofeu was having the game of his life and he is going to have to come off on a stretcher!! I really hope this isn't bad! Alcacar is coming on to replace him.
83' Opportunity for Carvajal to cross it into a packed box but hits it straight at the keeper.
85' (5-3) Goal for Serbia! Petkovic runs through our defence with the ball and hits a fierce shot past Badia. We had too many men up field and we were punished!
FT: Good win. The Serbian head coach comes over to shake my hand so I blank him and walk down the tunnel. He done that to me in Serbia, why should I shake his hand in Spain? I tell the lads how pleased I was with their performance, again, and they all seemed to carry my enthusiasm. We are going all the way, I can feel it. That is 6 games with Spain Under-21s and it is my 6th win.
