CHRIS HUGHTON'S ROLL AS NORIWCH CITY MANAGER HAS ENDED

Norwich City have tonight confirmed that the club have parted company with 55 year old Chris Hughton. Hughton had been at Carrow Road since the 7th June 2012 and since then helped the Canaries stay in the premier league whilst leading his team to memorable victories against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United. He also led his team to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the League cup, before wins against West Brom and Manchester City ensure the Canaries survival in the Barclay's Premier League.

The Norwich board have said that the club was looking for a new start and the betting has already begun for Hughton's successor. Hughton was never really a fans favourite and they criticised him for his lack of motivation and they disliked his playing style, so the Norwich faithful are hoping that the board bring in someone with a different approach who can lead them on to new things.

Norwich ended last season in 11th position, a fairly average season spiced up with upsets of Arsenal and Manchester United, and the fans gave their team respect for the season as a whole. They have now started to feel though as if their team can go on to better things but do not feel like Hughton is the man for the job.

Harry Redknapp, Michael Laudrup and Paolo Di Canio have been cast as early favourites to take over at Carrow Road and many other managers around England have been linked with the job in the East.

The Norwich board left us a statement which read "We are sad to announce that Chris's time at the club has come to an end. We want to thank him for the fantastic job he did at the club and we wish him well for the future. It was a hard decision for us to make but we feel that it was the right one and now the club as a whole can move on to bigger and better things. A new manager will be announced in the next week or so, and then we get underway with our preparations for the new campaign."

Norwich have already brought in new faces this summer, such as the like of Ricky van Wolfswinkel who recently signed for a fee of £8.5 million from Sporting Lisbon. Van Wolfswinkel scored a total of 28 goals in 55 appearances for the Portuguese side and seemed delighted with the move to Carrow Road, claiming fellow Dutchman Robin Van Persie suggested it to him.

Norwich's pre season begins with a game at Debrecen, before playing Lausanne, Deportivo, Kings Lynn and Elche. They finish pre season with a home fixture against Gerona, before heading to Craven Cottage where they will begin their 2013/2014 Premier League campaign against Fulham.

SWAINE APPOINTED AS NORWICH BOSS

Norwich City have tonight confirmed that Joe Swaine,25, is the successor of Chris Hughton and will take charge of the Canaries immediately. Norwich announce the news two days after Hughton's departure and fans are said to be delighted that the club didn't hesitate in getting someone new in quickly. Swaine may raise the eyebrows of some fans though as he has no premier league experience but himself and the Boardroom at Carrow Road are convinced that he can lead the Canaries to success.

In Swaine's first press conference as Norwich boss, he stated "I'm delighted to be given the chance as Norwich manager. I'm prepared to work day in day out to help the team be the best they can and lead them to great success. I'm going to have a good look through the squad in the next few days and over the first pre season matches to see where we need to improve to help get us on track for a fantastic campaign. I will be bringing fresh faces in, that's for sure and I have a few targets in my head already, I'd say from my brief overview on the squad that we need to improve our strength in depth and try and get a couple of new players in to help that department"

Swaine's first game as Norwich manager will be in 4 days against Lausanne and all the Norwich faithful are looking forward to seeing him in action. Swaine beat the names of Michael Laudrup and Paolo Di Canio to the job so he is hoping to make a good impression immediately at Carrow Road.

PRE SEASON REPORT AND TRANSFER SUMMARY

Norwich can head into the start of the 2013/2014 Premier League season on the back of a positive pre season campaign. They played a total of 7 games, winning 5 and losing 2. Scoring a total of 19 goals and conceding just 10. They began pre season with a win over Debrecen, Luciano Becchio scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory. They then visited Swiss side Lausanne where they were victorious again, goals from Bradley Johnson and Kyle McFadden ensured a 2-1 win for the Canaries. A 2-1 win was the same score line for the next game where they faced Spanish side Deportivo at Carrow Road, 3 wins out of 3 so far for the Canaries who were looking very good. They then faced Kings Lynn, Elche and Brescia. They beat King’s Lynn 4-0 and Brescia 5-2 but that result against the Italian side was unfortunately in the 3rd/4th Place Play-off as they lost on penalties against Elche after a entertaining 2-2 draw. The last game of Pre Season ended against Girona, again another entertaining game but Norwich came out on the end of a 3-4 loss. As said earlier, the Canaries can take a lot of positives from these seven games into the start of the new season and the Norwich faithful may just have something to look forward to.

Norwich’s attempt at perhaps a top half finish will be boosted by the recent signings they have brought in. Swaine arrived at Carrow Road at the start of July and has already impressed the fans with the new faces brought into the club. His first signing was 23 year old, Alexander Buttner from Manchester United. He signed for a fee of £2.3 million on £30,000 a week. Swaine was said to be delighted with the singing of Alex and thinks he has the quality to become a fantastic player and part of the squad. His next signing was Leandro Damiao from Internacional for a fee of £4.6 million. The twenty-four-year-old Brazilian has signed on a four year deal at £37,500 a week. Again Swaine was delighted with the new signing as were the fans and they hope he can make a good impression in the premier league. There are reports of Swaine also trying to tie up a deal with Argetinian attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan for a reported fee of £7 million and the Norwich board are working hard to find the funds to get the deal done.

So, much to look forward to in the next season if you are a Canaries fan, 2 great new signings and some good pre-season results, the feeling is good in the Norwich camp and they may just be the underdogs of the new season.
