Introduction:

Hi! I am Alok,27,from India. I support Manchester United. I have been playing FM since FM 2009 came out. I wrote a few blogs on my FM stories on a now defunct fan site. This is my first story on FM Scout and I am quite eager to get started.

Why I chose Mainz?
The German League has grown steadily over the past few years producing some of the finest young talents in World football. It has also climbed up in the FIFA league rankings. I wanted to try out my luck in this league and take up the challenge of guiding lower ranked team into Europe and beyond.
FSV Mainz 05 represent the city of Mainz in the Bundesliga. After gaining promotion in 2009 the side have got a firm foothold in the top division and are now looking to progress.
I hope you read and enjoy the story.

Tuchel steps down

Fans of German side FSV Mainz 05 were shocked to learn that their beloved manager, Thomas Tuchel, had decided to leave the club just before the start of pre-season. Tuchel, who had been in charge of the Rhineland-Palatinate based club since 2009, cited personal reasons for his resignation.
Mainz President Harald Strutz quickly paid his tributes to the outgoing manager on the club's official website and reassured the fans that Tuchel would be replaced by the best candidate.
Although a host of names were immediately linked with the vacant manager's post at Coface Arena it still remains unknown as to who will lead the Carnival Club in the next season.

Torsten Krause is the new Mainz Manager

FSV Mainz 05 have appointed Torsten Krause as their new manager. Krause, 30,has an experience as a player in the lower leagues but moved into coaching early in his career. He was working with FC Dusseldorf as a coach and was preparing for his coaching badges when Mainz came calling.
. CLub President Harald Strutz, welcoming the new manager at the Press Conference, told the press that Krause matched the ambition of the Board and hoped the Club reach new heights under Krause's management.

The 30 year old manager was quite calm as he answered the questions posed by the press although he did claim that he "jumped at the opportunity to manage Mainz, a club with tremendous potential". He then went on to boldly predict a mid-table finish in his debut season, agree the need for new players and promised to give youth a chance as the conference ended at the Coface Arena.

The Mainz supporters questioned were still undecided by this appointment. While some praised the club to have appointed a young manager to lead the club in the new era while others would have preferred an experienced figure.

Krause hires new staff, suggests a new arrival...

Torsten Krause began his reign at Mainz by hiring new members to his backroom staff. Krause wasn't happy with the existing Backroom staff and has made a few changes in the scouting personnel. The most notable among those is the experienced German scout, Edwin Boekamp, who also has an experience in coaching. Krause also changed the entire Physiotherapy team.

When asked about player transfers,he claimed that the Club were looking at numerous players to strengthen certain areas of the squad. Krause also indicated exits - both temporary and permanent. When quizzed on details on incoming transfers Krause confirmed they were close to signing a talented young player with tremendous potential. However, he declined to name the said player citing club policy.

Mainz sign rising Austria star

FSV Mainz pulled out a coup of sorts when they announced the signing of 20 year old Austrian defender, Martin Hinteregger, from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. This is a major signing for club. Krause wants to pair his new signing with the young Stefan Bell.

The Austrian U-21 International signed for a price of 2.8 million Euros for 3 seasons. The towering Center Back who can also play as Left Back is known for shooting with his Left foot from range apart form his defending skills.

Two in; two out at Mainz

Torsten Krause signed Cristian Molinaro and Georg Tiegl yesterday while fullbacks Junior Diaz and Malik Fathi departed the O'5s.
Veteran fullback Molinaro arrived on a season long loan deal from Stuttgart whereas 22 year old Austrian winger Tiegl, signed a 3 year deal from Red Bull Salzburg.

Mainz have finished with their Pre-Season training and look forward to the DFB Pokal 1st Round match against lower league side Nottingen.
Nice start, good luck! I like Mainz (Hannover's pretty much the only team I don't like) a lot so I hope you do well :)

Thank you very much Louis O!

Krause finds positives in August performances

Torsten Krause might have just taken charge of FSV Mainz 05 in June but the club are already languishing at the bottom end of the table. The Carnival Club have just 2 points in 4 league games and are placed 16th, just outside the relegation zone. The club did manage to avoid home defeats against Title contenders Dortmund and Leverkusen.

Krause had the following to say to our reporter when asked about his first month in the Bundesliga,
Torsten Krause:
August wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. We did qualify for the next round of the DFB Pokal and we held Dortmund and Leverkusen. We struggled against Bremen and Hertha to keep possession and paid for it. We need to get our focus back after the International break
