END OF THE YEAR UPDATE FOR STEAM FC AND THE REST OF THE LEAGUE
After the loss to Everton back in November 4th, Steam FC can't seem to lose as they string together an impressive amount of wins and some draws along the way. After the Steam FC head coach Sandro Castillo almost lost his job because of his team's lack of wins, it seems he wasn't going to let the board fire him after winning a good amount of games. The amount of games won and drawn for Steam FC are shown below :
Out of all the impressive wins, the most impressive was the last one which was a very close game. Jordi Alba scored the goal in the 71st minute to win them the game and it was one of the best games of the season to end the year. Robert Lewandowski is seen by the fans as the best player on the team as he consistently puts up great numbers when he plays. Sandro Castillo admitted that the problem with the team was the lack of teamwork, but he trained them to know how to work with each other and know they can't seem to stop losing.
Around the BPL, a lot of shocking things have happened and most of them happened in the same week. It started off when Tottenham fired their head coach Villas-Boas. Fans found that firing to be a little too early but Tottenham was in 14th place which wasn't too good. Next, Man City fired Peligrini because of Man City's league standings (9th) in the BPL. A couple days later, Liverpool fired Brendan Rodgers because they were in 19th place. Liverpool fans were not surprised of Rodgers's firing and some were even hoping he would get fired sooner. Tottenham hired Marcelo Bielsa, Man City hired Jurgen Klopp, and Liverpool hired Martin O' Neill. The full league standings are below :
AS OF DECEMBER 31st, 2013
Steam FC is in 5th place and they are 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea. Steam FC is hoping to qualify to the Champions League in their first season and they are not too far from qualifying if they keep up with their great play. At January 1st 2014, Steam FC will have four new players. They will recieve Diego Godin from Atletico, Sidney Sam from Leverkusen, Massadio Haidara from Newcastle, and Victor Wanyama from Southampton. Sandro says that these 4 men will be crucial to the team and he expects them to perform at their highest potential for the remainder of the season. For a debut season, Steam FC has been doing pretty well and it won't be surprising if they qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season.
