

Aston Villa today announced that manger Paul Lambert has left the club by mutual consent. The Scotsman guided Villa out of the bottom three and kept them in the premier league but has decided to leave Vila Park. It is believed that Villa should reveal there new manager tomorrow evening at a press conference inside Villa Park. It is widely speculated that it will be former captain Stiliyan Petrov who will take the job.
The Bulgarian was forced to retire from football after being diagnosed with leukaemia in March 2012. The former Celtic and Villa player is a popular figure throughout football and has been made favourite for the job by many bookmakers. Petrov is currently assistant manager of the under 21 team and Villa. Villa fans are disappointed about the departure of Paul Lambert but are fully behind whoever gets the job.
