Sami Hyppia Steps Down

In news that shocks the German Footballing World, former Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyppia has stepped down, leaving the the Bayer Leverkusen managerial spot vacant. Hyppia, 40, who led Bayer Leverkusen to a 3rd place finish last season, has shocked many with his decision to leave one of Germany’s most talented teams. Hyppia however, told the press that his decision to leave boiled down to the fact that he thought winning a trophy against the big 2, referring to Bayer Munich and Borussia Dortmund, was near impossible. Hyppia has a point, there were 31 points between Leverkusen and 1st placed Bayer Munich at the end of the Bundesliga season last year, but the majority of fans think Leverkusen can overtake a Borrusia Dortmund side without starlet Mario Gotze, and are angered by Hyppia's decision to leave at such a crucial point in the club's history. Many are interested in gaining the services of the Finnish manager, Tottenham Hotspurs, who currently have an interim manager in Tim Sherwood, look to be the main suitors for Hyppia. But for Leverkusen fans, the biggest question is who will be the manager of their club coming into a crucial 2013-2014 campaign. Gus Hiddnik and Rafa Benitez are the favorites for the job, but anything can happen at this stage for Leverkusen. Bayer Leverkusen have plenty of talented stars, such as Stefan Kiessling, who led the Bundesliga with 25 goals and Sidney Sam, who finished last season with 5 goals. Those two especially will have to step it up for Leverkusen if they want to break the top 2 this year, and perhaps go deep in the Champions League.
Good luck :)

A Madridista story!

Paddy- Thanks!

Louis- Thanks for pointing that out Louis, I'm just an idiot :P

Jon- Thanks Jon.

Aaron- Yeah, I'm glad Louis pointed that out though, making myself look like an idiot as usual.

Pompey- I'd much rather read a Pompey story than a Madridista story! :P

Jupp Heynckes new Leverkusen Manager!

In news that has shocked German fans, former Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen manager Jupp Heynckes came out of retirement today in order to manager Leverkusen for the second time in his career. Jupp managed win the treble last year with the world’s best club, Bayern Munich. After winning the Champions League in dramatic fashion from a late Arjen Robben goal, Heynckes retired after a long managerial role in which he managed clubs like Schalke, Bilbao, at R. Madrid, along with Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. However, it seems there is one more twist too Heynckes story. He is coming back to Leverkusen in order to manage a club he had previous success with. Back in 2009, Bayer won 24 straight gaes before finishing a disappointing 4th. However, the club bounced back in a major way during 2010, where the club finished 2nd to Borussia Dortmund. After such a successful reign, Jupp Heynckes is considered somewhat of a folk hero in Leverkusen, but many football pundits consider is biggest weapon to be his knowledge of Bayern Munich. If any single person can overtake the world’s best club, it’s Jupp Heynckes, creator of footballing's biggest superpower.

Heynckes agrees on fees for Frankfurt Duo

Bayer Leverkusen manager Jupp Heynckes is rumoured to have an interest in both Sebastian Rode and Sebastian Jung, as he prepares for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Heynckes was photographed in Frankfurt today as he met with Armin Veh, manager of Frankfurt. Following, the meeting, a report was leaked by one of the Leverkusen staff, which indicates the Jupp agreed with Veh on a fee for both Rode and Jung, 4.6M for the former, and 6.5M for the latter. Heynckes told numerous press outlets that he was furious that the reports had been leaked, and that he would have the re-assess his own backroom staff. Sebastian Rode, 22, is a fast, aggressive, center midfielder who attempts to wear out the opposition, and despite still having room to grow, his technical skills are still very adequate for the Bundesliga. However, Rode will have some choices when it comes to deciding his next club, the champions of Europe, Bayern Munich, and Wolfsburg, have both have offers accepted according to Armin Veh. Bayern would the be the obvious choice, but without a guarantee of much playing time, Wolfsburg and Leverkusen could be the better choice for Rode’s young career. Sebastian Jung is Leverkusen’s next target. Touted as one of Germany’s future stars, this 23 year old right back has pace to burn, and therefore is one of the Bundesliga’s top right back. However, his price tag of 6.5M could deter any other suitors from signing him. Nothing is confirmed yet though, and anything could happen when it comes to the transfers of both these Frankfurt starlets.
Raid Frankfurt! Rode and Jung would be solid additions :)
Awsome update and def raid frankfurt
