So, having done lots of updates to get more story up to the same speed as my save, i can ease off on the spamming! You can blame Nick for inspiring me with his Like a Boas Tottenham story!

This is my first ever manager story, so i will happily welcome any feedback, positive or negative, that will help me along. I've found that reporting the events of my save keeps it even more interesting and intense as a player and i am thoroughly enjoying my first season at Southampton!

Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read my story so far, i hope you've enjoyed it!

Great story. Better that we're using the same club so I can compare our saves. Kind of like a not-so-network game. 44bloody2's Southampton for the title. Heard it here first

Cheers RomanoGraham,

I think we may struggle to catch Chelsea and our form is slipping as similar to Southampton in real life, beyond the first 11 there are some real weak positions. I'm hoping to bring a few players in on loan to cover my injuries but we shall have to see who's available!
I personally feel I'm going to ruin the club financially sooner or later. A few big names gone to gain money and replaced by loanees. We'll see how my second season goes on. I hope you continue to read
I will definitely be following your story mate.

January could be an exciting month for me! 3 loaned players all of high calibre! Good times!

TRANSFER GOSSIP!

As the January transfer window swings open there is already a flutter of early transfer rumours and stories. From dream moves to surprise bargains, our report will have you covered!
Let’s have a look at the latest Premier League transfer stories….

ARSENAL – Reports suggest that Arsenal are in pursuit of Middlesbrough youngster Jordon Jones (below). The Northern Irish-man has made just 2 appearances at U21 level and failed to feature for Boro so far this season.

CHELSEA – Having bought in a few players in the summer, Jose Mourinho now appears to be attempting to balance the wage bill by listing several high profile players for loan.

CRYSTAL PALACE – Crystal Palace are reportedly leading the chase for ex-Fulham midfielder Damien Duff after the 34 year old was released from his contract by the cottagers. West Ham and Cardiff are also planning on opening talk with the player.

LIVERPOOL – New manager Luciano Spalletti has set out his intentions early by openly declaring interest in the Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. The Frenchman has been on the radar of many clubs over the course of the season but Saints manager, Stuart Pearce, has insisted he is not for sale – at any price. Liverpool will also have to fend off A.C Milan, Shalke and Olympic Marseille in their pursuit of the battling midfielder’s signature.

MANCHESTER UNITED – With United 16 points off leaders Chelsea in the BPL many pundits suggested that Moyes would have to strengthen heavily in the usually expensive January window. Those reports may be proved right as Man Utd have been linked with multiple players across Europe in a bid to close the gap!

NEWCASTLE – The Magpies boss, Alan Pardew, has confirmed his goal of strengthening his central midfield up on Tyneside with sources suggesting that Southampton’s Jack Cork is the man he’s after. Cork has been in fine form for the Saints this season and reports suggest that a bid of around £8m may be enough for Pearce to let the 24 year old go.

SOUTHAMPTON – Having been hit hard by injury in the lead up to Christmas, Stuart Pearce needs to strengthen his side in several key positions; the problem for the Saints manager is that the kitty is empty! Sorry Saints fans – I have a feeling you could see more players leaving your club than those coming in!

TOTTENHAM – Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Everton left-back, Leighton Baines, with a fee in the region of £18m being offered. Many fans will argue the England international is worth more but, with Everton’s financial position, they may well cash in on 29 year old Baines.

A good month for Southampton as they cruised into the 5th Round of the F.A Cup and secured 7 points out of a possible 9 in the league, maintaining their hold on 2nd position although still remain 9 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Gaston Ramirez took full advantage of the injury hit squad and has been in fine form throughout January scoring 4 goals in 5 games taking his total to 6 in all competitions. Ramirez's form and the return to fitness of Saints captain, Adama Lallana, will give Pearce a selection headache he will happily welcome given the injuries of the last few months.

January loan signing Michael Essien has been in good form since his arrival at St. Marys from Chelsea and has bolstered a midfield that was missing Morgan Schniederlin through injury.
