RIERI SACKED BY AS MONACO

Sky Sports believe the club, AS Monaco, have sack Claudio Ranieri, due to unknown reasoning but it is thought that he has been involved in a fall out with Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev.

Monaco are thought to be monitoring several Managers to replace Ranieri who also managed several clubs such as Chelsea, Napoli, Juventus and Roma and his most recent before Monaco, Internazionale. With Andres Villas Boas claiming he has been in talks with three highly reputable clubs it is believed Villas-Boas is highly likely to be the new First Team Coach of AS Monaco. However with him being in talks with more than one club there is no certainty, and other candidates such as Thierry Henry and Jurgen Kilinsmann have been highlighted as possibilities to fill the vancancy.

We worked hard to ensure he signed a contract with us and not the other teams also trying to appoint Andre as their manager, such as Liverpool and AC Milan. Andre is one of the most talented managers football has to offer and we are confident as a club Andre is the right man for the job. Andre is very young and this is perfect for a club that is beginning a new era.”
Good luck!

AVB: “I REJETED A MOVE TO MADRID”

In light of his new managerial job Andre Villas-Boas reveals, in an exclusive interview, how he is relishing the chance to manage AS Monaco and how he even rejected an offer from Real Madrid to manage the French Club.

Andre Villas-Boas has told BBC Sport that he already loves Monaco, the club and the place. AVB said that Monaco ‘feels like the right move.’ With Monaco winning the French Ligue 2 last season, and the vast amount of money that has recently been pumped into the club Monaco look like a force to be reckoned with this season. Training has not yet begun, but AVB is certainly planning what will be happening this season at Monaco. AVB stated “I want to win the league. Yes it is true that I had the chance to move to Madrid, however I want to leave a strong legacy, something that would not be done at Real Madrid. I want a challenge.”

MONACO LOOKING FOR LEFT BACK

AS Monaco are looking to add to their squad after Head of Football, and personal friend to the owner of the club, Vadim Vasilyev was seen at a recent game between Tottenham and FC Lorient watching the young English talent Kyle Walker. AVB has previously worked with Walker and is not shy of admiring the youngster: “Walker is up there with the best, even at the age he is. He would be a great addition to any side.” However it is thought the scouting team are wary of Walkers tendencies of over attacking.

However there are said to be a number of targets, including Everton’s Seamus Coleman, Newcastle’s French right back Mathieu Debuchy, and Porto’s young talent Danilo.

With Monaco’s best right back being the extremely young talent Fabinho, AVB is determined to bring in another left back to ensure that he has at least two key players in each position, as well as allowing competition for Fabinho, who is perhaps not experienced enough to secure a first team spot.

In other transfer news Monaco’s Jessy Pi, a 19 year old central midfieler has been sent to Nimes Olympique on loan.

AVB SIGNS DANILO FOR MONACO

http://i.eurosport.com/2011/07/05/737361-9321236-640-360.jpg
AVB’s first new face to bring in is the Brazilian 22 year old left back Danilo.

Danilo was born in Bicas, Minas Gerais. He joined América Futebol Clube (MG)'s youth system at the age of 12, and competed at senior level with the club in the Campeonato Mineiro and the Série C, winning the latter in 2009 and gaining promotion.
In May 2010, Danilo was transferred to Santos FC. Investor DIS Esporte acquired 37.5% of his economic rights, Santos another 37.5% for free and the remaining 25% were retained by América. He won the Campeonato Paulista in 2011, and competed in two Série A seasons with the club. In early January 2012, following the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup, Danilo signed for F.C. Porto in Portugal until June 2016, for €13 million and with a €50 million release clause. He played understudy to Cristian S?punaru in his beginnings, but soon became first-choice for the Vítor Pereira-led side, with countryman Alex Sandro – who signed at the same time – featuring in the other defensive wing. Danilo has now started his new journey by joining AS Monaco for a reported £13million figure.

AVB is said to be delighted with the signing of Danilo. It is thought the deal was extremely smooth and that Porto may not have sold the player to anyone else other than AVB due to the history that he has with the club.

TWO MORE YOUNG FACES JOIN AVB’S MONACO

Kurt Zouma and Christian Tello are AS Monaco’s latest signings.

http://www.theelastico.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/kurtzoumaasse.jpg
18 year old French wonderkid Kurt Zouma has joined AS Monaco from St Ettiene for £16million. Zouma is a centre back as has been linked all summer to clubs such as Real Madrid and Chelsea.

22 year old winger Christian Tello has joined Monaco from Barcelona for £8.5million

Andres Villas Boas has certainly splashed the cash this summer. Many have questioned his transfer policy as they were expecting more experienced and high profile signings. However AVB has expressed his desire to build for the future – something he has certainly done.

Feedback would be welcomed. I did a poll before I started this story and nearly everyone who voted chose Monaco so I hope people are enjoying this so far.

The League Table

Monaco have not had the greatest opening campaign to their Ligue 1 season. Newly appointed manager, Andres Villas-Boas, has told BT Sport that he is dissapointed that he has still not managed to get his first win for his new club in the opening month. However, he also said that the first 3 games have been tough and the club should not worry. But with more tough fixtures to come in the next month, including the might PSG, 'tough fixtures' may not be a good enough excuse for AVB.

Player of the Month
Kurt Zouma
http://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/01572/kurt_1572672a.jpg
The 18 year old new signing has impressed in his first 3 games. Andres Villas-Boas has trusted him to start in all 3 games ahead of Carvalho and he is been solid in every single one. For being only 18 years old this is hugely impressive.

FALCAO INJURED ON COLOMBIA DUTY

http://p1.trrsf.com/image/fget/cf/301/401/images.terra.com/2013/09/04/falcao-injury.jpg
Falcao, AS Monaco's huge summer signing and key player has sustained a hamstring duty whilst playing for his National team, Colombia. This will come as awful news to Andre Villas Boas who has already got to a bad start to his Monaco managerial career.

The lack of depth in the striker position is a worry according to AVB, and a deal to bring a new striker into Monaco in the French Joker Transfer Window is looking likely.

WERNER JOINS MONACO IN LAST ACTION OF THE WINDOW

Timo Werner, a 17 year old striker has joined AS Monaco from Stuttgart for £5.25 million. The deal will be completed in January 2014. Werner has been starting for Stuttgart's first team and has already bagged himself 4 goals.

AVB has yet again made a signing for the future. AVB believes he does not nee to strengthen his current team with experienced players. He has stated that the team is good enough to compete in the league and even challenge for the title and thereofore is using all the money he has been given on his long term goal to make AS Monaco the powerhouse of Europe.
