Experiment 1: A Tale of Two Bales
Gareth Bale, now a global superstar since his move from Spurs in the Summer has been played a big part in Real Madrid's season so far, including an amazing goal from 30 yards at the weekend against Elche C.F.. You can see the goal below.
As for his old side, Tottenham Hotspur, things have been going well for them, with 5th place currently theirs. However, after Liverpool extended the gap to six points at the weekend, Spurs fans will be feeling a little more worried about their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
What I will be doing in this experiment:
- I will play 2 saves each five seasons long.
- One save will see how Spurs and Real Madrid fare with Bale having completed his move to Spain, whilst the other save will see how the sides get on, if the deal had not gone through, and Bale had remained at Spurs.
- I will be updating at the end of each season, with the results from all competitions from both teams, Bales' form and statistics, the league standings, and any signings that either side should make. What will most likely happen is I simulate one season on one save, before simulating the corresponding season on the other save, and then update them in a comparative form. Please read, and the first update should be up here later this evening!
