Rangers - 4 years on

It has been Four long years here at Rangers. Four long years, that have really seen this team change, immensely...For the better, of course. I came to Rangers in the summer of 2013, a year that saw the Gers turn to dust. With nothing but my playing career in the Championship, the only other thing I had, at my arsenal to build this Football Club was my initiative.

Stuck in Scottish League One, I had a maximum of 2 years to mark out my foundations. I was specifically given 2 years to get this great club out of the Scottish league One, through the Championship and back into the SPL, where she belongs.

And didn't I do just that...

In my first season at the club, we soured through our League campaign with just about no hitches along the way. Sure, we had a few draws here and there, but no losses in the League meant an invincible season for us.
We were knocked out of the Challenge cup early on in the season by Cowdenbeath, but that didn't bother me so much.
Because god knows how, but we only went on to secure a place in the League cup final...And against Celtic, beating the likes of Motherwell 6-1 and Dundee 2-1 to reach it. We did lose 2-0, but we weren't too disheartened.
We moved on ready to challenge ourselves in the Scottish cup. We beat Celtic 2-0 in the semi finals 2 days after the League cup final and went on too beat Kilmarnock 1-0 in the final. We had successfully completed the double!

Next season was exactly the same. We completed an invincible season and made it into the SPL, right where we should be.
We once again missed out on the League Cup losing to Celtic again, 4-1! The challenge cup was also another disappointment. Although, we won the Scottish Cup on the final day of the season, beating Celtic on penalties to lift the trophy, and to complete our second double in 2 years.

Back in the SPL, us Gers all had high hopes for the season. Winning the title wasn't on the cards, but we would certainly have a say in who won it. We finished second in the league. We beat Celtic 3 times, drew twice and lost once, so it was really nice to take the bragging rights home with us.
We won the Scottish cup for the THIRD time beating Abroath 7-1 in the final, we even won our first League cup against Celtic!
We were also entered into the Europa League the previous season due to performances in the Scottish cup. We were drawn into a group of Petrolul, Beskitas and Udinese where we just managed to see ourselves through to the knockouts. We then beat Galatasaray and Monaco to reach the quarter finals where Liverpool would stand in our way of the Semi finals, the first leg finish 0-0 at Anfield, and then came the second leg...We were 1-0 up at the Ibrox throughout the entire game, until in the 89th minute, Steven Gerrard scored the equalizer and the away goal that would cruelly see us out of the tournament.

Our 4th season, the season that just passed, was probably our best. We brought home the Scottish Premiership for the 55th time. Unfortunately, we couldn't celebrate any other domestic cups, nor could we with any continental ones as Once again we were knocked out in the Europa League quarter Finals by Liverpool.

So that is the story so far. We have come a long way, and this is just the beginning for us. I plan to take Rangers to the very top...Not in Scotland, oh no! The World.
I want to dominate the Scottish football, European Football, and wipe Celtic off the footballing world.

Our team is a fantastic one, one with a lot of potential. I take this team and this star player into our next season. We have Champions League football this season, and we can't afford to go out early, we get into the group stages and there's a big pot of gold to take home to build our team further.

There's room for only one champion, and we will be those champions.
Good luck :) Your team seems to be getting stronger and stronger so who knows how long before a European title is on its way ;)
Nice start and good luck :D
Good luck man !
Paddy: Cheers mate, although we have done very well in the Europa, it is now time to establish ourselves in the Champions League, which will be very hard! However, our challenge is made a little easier as I gained the SPL a second UCL qualifying spot after my performances in the Europa League :)

Pompey: Cheers mate! :D

Bebero: Cheers mate, hope you follow!

2017/18 Pre-Season

We didn't have the biggest pre-season this year, three games were played, against three teams at a considerably lower level than us.

Our first game was played against a team called East Fife, in the division below us. Disappointingly, we didn't have the best game at all, two lucky goals from club legend Nicky law and new signing Ross Barkley saw us nick the win, but only just. We were very close to going behind many times in the game...We must improve if we are to challenge anyone this season.

East Fife 2-1

Our second game came against Exeter, a team from southern England, playing in the Sky Bet League 2 this year. Despite another very average performance, we did manage to get ourselves another win. An eye catching performance from our main man Declan Burns saw the Irishman bag himself three goals, gaining man of the match in the process. Declan, is the only player worth a mention in this game, no one else did anything of any use, and I say once again...Our team performances MUST improve.

Exeter 3-1

Our third and final game looked to be an easy killing for us, but it seemed not as simple as we thought. In this last game we'd face Telford. Once again, we didn't play well at all, although we played a lot better than them, averaging 65% possession. Telfors were awarded and early penalty, and it was tucked away by their captain, Gary Jones.
We didn't score after that, the game ended 1-0 and ensured a memorable day for Telford. I really hope these performances don't carry on into our competitive games.

Telford 0-1

In five days we take on APOEL in the first leg of the Champions League Qualifying round 3. We must make sure our performances are at the top of their game if we want to get anywhere in this competition.
I am confident though, we can get to the group stages, at least!
Hopefully it's all just pre-season mode. Maybe one or two more friendlies would have improved the picture going into the APOEL clash
Telford!!!!!! Telford!!!!!! I am sure I was there! I hope you work better in the season good luck
Nice start, that Burns lad looks...wow! :O
Paddy: Hopefully! We need Champions League football this year!

Jason: Yeah, me too mate...Hopefully we can leave pre-season behind us and get off to a good start!

Neal: ikr? ;)
Good luck with the upcoming season.

August - Back with a Bang (Part one)

After a fairly poor pre season, I was looking to start well competitively, we had Champions League qualifiers to play against APOEL, and a tricky start to the Scottish Premiership where we would take on St. Mirren, Hibernian, and Aberdeen in our first three games. If we get through this round of the Champions League, we are in the play offs, however it adds an extra two games to the month, which will mean a lot of fixture congestion. But if we win, it'll be worth it.

So our season kicked off at the Ibrox against a fairly decent APOEL team. We went into the game with a defensive style of football, not wanting to concede an away goal of course, but early on in the half that was really the last thing on my mind. Declan Burns, in the 16th minute broke free of his marker as the pass from Barkley scooped over to the on form striker, he took one deft touch and bam! He struck it on a half volley and put us into the lead, we had the advantage and I was adamant to keep it. 45 minutes into the game, and we had the chance to increase the deficit for APOEL. Conceding a penalty to an awful foul is bad enough, but it's worse when you

end up facing one of the best penalty kick takers in Scottish football; Ross Barkley.
Barkely, stepped up cool as you like...and slotted the ball home doubling our lead. From that point on, both teams looked fairly even, but seven minutes from time, and once again the score was about to be increased by our very own Adam Morgan. The corner was swung in by MacLeod, Morgan then leaped up for the header and the ball nestled nicely in the top right corner.
We are 3-0 up going into the second leg, we have a very strong lead, but that could all change! We must not get carried away.

A huge win against APOEL, in the Champions League play offs, saw our confidence rocket up, sky high...And we were ready to defend our Premiership, starting off at St. Mirren. Our star player, Declan Burns was disappointingly injured for around 4-5 weeks. I was almost tears at the time, I knew our team was built around him, and we are no where near as good of a team without him.
But that didn't seem to matter.

Ten minutes into the game, we were already 1-0 up, through our back up striker Adam Morgan!
Defender, Scott Boyd made the pass back to his keeper, the pass was slow, and and average. The keeper could have gotten there first but didn't even look bothered. Boyd watched in horror as he saw Morgan pacing forward, reaching the ball and sliding it past the keeper to give us Gers the lead! Morgan was on fire now, he was the first to every pass forward, he was making killer runs to split the defense, and his hard work payed off a few minutes after his first goal. He made a darting run past Boyd, and found himself on side in the box awaiting the pass from Suso, who drilled it at his feet...Morgan adjusted calmly directed it into the top corner, the cushion was now there for us to fall back on!

We waited for the next goal eagerly anticipating a 3-0 lead from the Glasgow blues, but sadly, the goal went Mirren's way! Paul Mcgowan was brought down in the box by left back Jerome Williams, giving St. Mirren a life line...McGowan took three steps back, and smashed it right down the middle!

There was now a hint of anxiousness all around the stadium for both teams! but Rangers fans' minds were set to rest when Adam Morgan scored the third goal to round of a perfect hattrick and the perfect start to the season.

So after battering European outfit APOEL 3-0, it was now time for them to take the game to us! Could they?
Well, of course...We were just to strong. We had scored 3 goals before the game hit ten minutes in, Gavin Gunning, Morgan, and Cameron Stewart all getting the goals. it then took until the 33rd minute for them to get their first goal through a Gunning own goal...But we all knew it was over already.

We then managed another 2 goals, to increase the score to 5-1 and the aggregate score to 8-1. Adam Morgan scored yet again (His 6th in 3 games) and another own goal conceded by defender Petros Vattis, saw us coast through to the play offs. Where we would face Slovan Blatislava!

Our next match couldn't come any sooner, we now were to face Hibernian. A tough game, but nothing out of the ordinary. We took the leads through our debutant center back Sergi Gomez early in the 19th minute, Hibernian then equalized late on the half, through their striker Steven Whittaker but it took just a 15 minute break for us to get back on track. Just three minutes into the second half Jerome Williams brought the game back to our advantage, and persisted to see out the win, and did so well. We didn't score again, we didn't concede again. But we won the game, and took top spot in the league.

A great start to the season, we are looking the real deal now, we can beat Blatislava and get into the UCL group stages! I know it!
Our next games consisted of Aberdeen, Raith, Slovan, and Inverness. But they aren't to be reviewed until part two.

Hey guys, just a quick note, I will be putting this story on hold, now I know this is very early but I believe I started a bit prematurely :( As I approach my MOCKS (Tests in England) more and more of my time will be taking by revision etc...

I will be continuing this story, but not until after April-ish!

I have another story I will start today, I will be jumping on the bandwagon of International teams as well, as I want to emulate the success of my Poland story. An international story will take up a lot less of my time, so I think this is the best type of story I can actually write :)

Cheers for reading guys :)

I don't quite get why you would put this one on hold because of your MOCKS and then start another one the same day. Stories take the same amount of effort. Nevermind, I will look forward to reading it.
I just think that an international story will be so much more easier mate, my last one was as good as it was because I didn't feel the pressure to write an update every single day, with national teams they play every 60 days or so

I get what you are saying though, I do! :/
