Great opening game, I must say the opening to those first few posts is a spark of genius, really good quotes too ;) Good luck!

August - Gaining our momentum & a cup run?

We have started well in our first game against Preston. A thrilling 4-2 victory sealed 3 points for us in my first game, and took us to the top of the table.
But, it was only one game, and I couldn't get carried away. We now had a game against York in the Capital one cup, but just because they are a smaller side, doesn't mean we should be writing them off so soon. So how did we manage...?

We started the game as the clear top dogs, and York had every reason to be scared. However for the first five minutes, it'd seem as if Wolves were the side battling against relegation to the Skrill.
They were the team with the possession and the team with all of the chances. But fortunately they didn't take any of them.
As I say...They were only good for the first five minutes. In the sixth minute, they were shown why it's so vital to take your chances early, as Dicko fired a shot into the net from inside the box.
Then, only a few minutes later the striker was there again...The ball came down the wing with Cassidy and as he drilled it in, Dicko directed it into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.
The game then dragged, and dragged, and dragged. All the way up to the 80th minute, when Dicko would secure a Wolves win with a hattrick. What better way to send your team through to the next round than by flicking a cross into the top corner with your head! 3-0, but we weren't finished yet.

The last goal was quite remarkable. Golbourne had the ball on the left in our half, and he fizzed a long ball over the two York centre backs where Clarke would touch it down, he took the shot, but SAVED! Fantastic save, but he'd go for it again on the parry...4-0!!!

We were through. And we'd meet Sunderland.
Wolves 4-0 York

Our next game of the month would be played at home again, against Gillingham in the league! Of course, again we were the likely team to come out with a win, according to the bookies, the recently promoted side (Gillingham) didn't stand a chance!

Thirty minutes, is how long it took for the breakthrough. And unsurprisingly the goal went our way. A volleyed through ball, if you like. From Cassidy went straight through the Gillingham defense and met Clarke, who ran with it and instinctively smasshing it into the roof of the net, giving the keeper, next to no chance at all.

Ten minutes after the first, we witnessed a absolutely poor bit of goalkeeping to give ourselves a 2 goal cushion. When I say poor...I mean, Pick the ball up and kick it out to Cassidy for an open goal...poor.
Cassidy without even thinking just rolled it in, we were 2-0 up! And that's how it stayed...2-0, and another win! Get in there!
Wolves 2-0 Gillingham

Next was Bristol City. We were looking to make this run, 4 wins in a row, and so...Our determination gave us the spirit to do so!
We took the lead through Clarke in the 9th minute. A long ball from the wing, led to a fne touch inside the box by Clarke, who cushioned it down and volleyed it low into the bottom corner.

We had to then dig in for the rest of the game, the next goal game at the other end of the game.
Nearing the end of the game, Dicko was put in one on one with the keeper and he finished it well, using all of his composure and accuracy to seal the points. Surely anyway?

We were handed a little bit of a scare, late on in the game. 3 minutes left of the game and we played those minutes with a one goal deficit after Conor McAleny scored a late penalty.
The goal gave City a little bit of confidence but in the end, we were the better team, and came out with what we deserved. We are now top of the league!!
Britsol City 1-2 Wolves

Now, I was to witness my first loss. Not just any loss, but a potential worst loss ever.
We were poor all the way through the game and we just kept on giving the ball away. Not that Crawley were any good, because they weren't, but to say we were even worse is just a horrible feeling.
Our poor performance showed, when 60 minutes into the game, our most influential player jamie O'Hara was sent to take an early bath. This didn't help our cause, we were already as bad enough as it was with 11 men.
90 minutes in, the game looked dead and buried. I had already started walking off to go down the tunnel. I turned around and with one quick glance, I had spectated the most beautiful goal I had ever seen.

Crawley winger, Jones was on the left with ball, he fizzed a pass to Elliot who chipped the ball up and volleyed it up and over the keeper into the top corner. He wasn't even looking in the goals direction. A shot the likes of Suarez and Ibrahimovic would find difficult to pull off.
It's not nice to lose, but when you lose to a goal like that, you can't help but look on and applaud.
Wolves 0-1 Crawley

What a poor last result. Still...Keep battling on. Now we'd have Sunderland! I was shaking with nerves. If I pulled off the result here, this could really be good for our league form, and of course for our cup form.

We started the game well, and were the better team in the first half. We passed well, and played with confidence. We even took the lead through defender Faure, who was solid all game, he scrambled in a header from a corner to make it 1-0.
Early in the second half, Sunderland leveled the score. Giaccherini crossed the ball in from deep and Fletcher used his speed to get passed his marker and stab the ball into the net.

We were still playing the better football, but late on, we conceded again. This time through Ki Sung Yeong. Marcos alonso was given the ball on the outside of the box and layed it off to Yeong, who brough it back out of the box and some how managed to rifle it past a cluster of around 12 players and into the top corner. The game finished that way, and we were out of the COC. Very disappointing, considering how well we played.
Sunderland - Wolves

We took confidence from that performance. And we picked ourselves up in our last league game against Port Vale. We attacked and attacked and attacked. We ended up scoring 3 on the night through Cassidy, Clarke and Faure! 3-1 was the final score and that was 12 points in the bag, shame it couldn't be 13 after Crawley's lucky, but of course remarkable wonder goal.
Port Vale 1-3 Wolves

Rab: Cheers mate, I am glad you liked it! :P I want quotes to be a recurring thing in this, different quote every so often :P

Another really well wrote update and some good results as well!
Really good update, enjoying the story so far :)
Very nice and good mate :) Very enjoying story
Hey guys, I just wanted to post this before people started to get annoyed with lack of posts.

I am really sorry, but this story will no longer continue. I do not want to end it, but i have to as the save has corrupted :/

I am so sorry for ending yet another story, I thought this was going somewhere. and It would have done had it not done this.

Do you want me to try again with Wolves or would you rather wait for me to find a good save to write about in a week or so? Personally I can't find the motivation to do what I did with Wolves again, but if you want it you'll get.

Thank you.
