This is my first season managing Liverpool and I'm aiming at one of those Champions League Qualifiers spot for next season's Champions League.
Tom Werner, Liverpool chairman, has declared Gerald Hummel as Liverpool's new manager after sacking Brendan Rodgers for the club's poor league position last season. Hummel's contract runs until June 30, 2014, earning €31,000 per week.
Journalist: "How do you feel about managing such a huge club in the Barclays Premier League?
Gerald Hummel: "It's an honor to be able to manage such a successful club with a great background and great history. The players here are superb and they've been looking for the manager that will get the best out of them. Hopefully I will be that manager that could lead them to success once again"
Journalist: "What are your season expectation this year?"
Gerald Hummel: "I think we can definitely challenge for the Premier Division title and earn ourselves a place for next season's Champions League."
Journalist: "What about you, Mr. Werner? Do you think you can go ahead and win the Premier League this season? And what made you think Mr. Hummel is up to this massive job?"
Tom Werner: "I think the team can certainly go for the title this season. We have got wonderful players and a wonderful manager that can help Liverpool achieve what it wants. Gerald Hummel is a talent I see that can lead any team to glory. You just have to believe in him."
Journalist: "Will you be looking to loan out the likes of Raheem Sterling and Coutinho or will you be developing them on your own?"
Gerald Hummel: "I believe that the young talent here at Liverpool play an important first team role. You just have to give them a chance in order to gain confidence."
Journalist: "Thank you for your time, Mr. Hummel and Mr. Werner."
