Portman Road emptied quickly yesterday, after Ipswich suffered a humiliating loss to Skrill Premier side Wrexham. The 10-2 scoreline was more than enough for many players, and Ipswich fans were calling for their manager's head by half time. Mick McCarthy resigned in the aftermath of the defeat, saying he owed it to Ipswich's fans to bury his head in the sand and re-learn the fundamentals of football management.
Wrexham's eccentric manager Levi Lopez was seen doing the Macarena in the dugout after 32 minutes, and in his post-match press conference, replied to the media in some very bizarre ways, including telling them that he will celebrate the victory with a "large plate of cheese and rice" and that his beverage of choice would be "a pint of the finest saltwater; to replicate Ipswich's tears", adding that he "might as well collect them from the stadium"
Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Everton beat Chelsea 2-1, Brighton knocked out Premiership side Crystal Palace and Luton defeated Yeovil 1-0.
Next time in the FA Cup, Wrexham will face Premiership giants Manchester City at home. Fans, players and management are all said to be thrilled.
