Chapter 5:

September 7,2013
Herne Bay, England

After their 7-2 victory over Heath Hays in the the previous round of the FA Cup AFC Liverpool were feeling very good in their upcoming encounter against Herne Bay. The players and coaching staff were ready to go and were excited about the possibility of advancing to the Second Qualifying Round.

Early on Gagné's troops made it seem like another beat down was happening. Winger Francis Berry seized on an error by Arthur Bartlett. A minute later Bartlett was able to redeem himself and score.

After that quick opening for the home team they would continue scoring two more times. Goal number two came in the 9th and goal number three came in the 13th. The AFC Liverpool dugout was in a panic. The brothers Gagné were yelling at each other in French. It was looking like they were going to be on the side of the score sheet like Heath Hays were in the previous round.

"This is %100 percent unexceptionable we should have not let those goals in so quickly. Where are your heads at men," said the first year manager. It seemed as if he was about to do something un gentlemanly.

After the whistle blew for the second half the Little Reds looked like they were determined to make a solid comeback. Shot after shot after shot kept going wide or into the keepers hand. Everyone on the visitors dugout were looking red. Each time they would miss the clock felt like it was going faster and faster.

Things were looking darker for the team until the 71st minute. Francis Berry would come through with his second goal of the match. Everyone seemed happy on their side. Could they make a comeback? Sadly no as his goal was too little,to late. AFC Liverpool have been knocked out of the FA Cup.

September

The Little Reds were pretty busy in the previous mouth with six matches. Four of them were a part of the league and the other two were in cup matches. In total they went 3-1-2 and are currently in 4th in the North West Counties Football League.

The most notable matches for the team were the two cup matches. In the FA Cup match up against Herne Bay we were heavily favored to win. Sadly that was not the case as they won 3-2. "It was a good run and hopefully we can learn from our mistakes," said Gagné after the match.

The next cup match was in the FA Vase. Earlier in the season the coaching staff said winning it was a top priority. So far they are doing well. In the second round against Kentish Town the Little Reds won by a score of 2-5. The third round will feature a trip to face Conard.

In league play Marc-André Gagné experienced his first defeat in league play. They lost by a score of 1-2 and seemed very upset. Francis Jeffers was the only goal scorer for us. Overall September was a good month and October will be just as busy. With six matches the Little Reds will be looking to climb higher in the table.
A mixed month there mate, but you're through in the FA Vase, and doing well in the league! Keep it up!
