A.C. Milan swoops for Liverpool duo

Only one week into the transfer window last season’s Serie A winners completes a £19.5m deal for Liverpool players Fabio Borini and Pepe Reina.
http://www.kopsource.com/wp-content/postimages/Liverpool-Fabio-Borini.jpg
After spending a season on loan at Sunderland hopes were high for Fabio Borini to establish himself in the Premier League. Although with only 7 goals in 28 appearances he couldn’t help Sunderland avoid relegation and it was to no ones surprise that he would leave Anfield in the summer. The fee for the hand-biting 23-year-old Italian is reportedly £12m.

Pepe Reina was unsettled last season and wanted out and managed to land a loan deal with Italian side Napoli. After a season abroad Reina didn’t show any desire to return to Anfield and wanted to stay in Italy. With Napoli unwilling to pay the required £7.5m for the 31-year-old goalkeeper, the current Serie A champions A.C. Milan answered his prayers and a £7.5m bid landed at Ian Ayre's desk. With Reina's departure Liverpool is due to sign a new goalkeeper as backup keeper Brad Jones has terminated his current contract and joined Australian side Sydney FC on a free transfer.

Liverpool signs Sandro

http://media3.fcbarcelona.com/media/asset_publics/resources/000/005/546/size_640x360/2011-11-03_FCB_JUVENIL_A_-_MANCHESTER_CITY_002.v1320356665.jpg
No, it’s not the Brazilian beast who plays for Tottenham, it’s a 19-year-old who plays as a striker for FC Barcelona B. Sandro Ramírez Castillo may not be the most renown young Spanish talent with players like Alvaró Morata, Jesé and Thiago Alcântara stealing all the headlines.

The promising Spaniard has spent most of his career at UD Las Palmas but in 2009 he left the Canary Islands for Catalonia. After spending his first four years in FC Barcelona’s youth sector he moved up to their B-squad, though only making 1 appearance before getting injured for the rest of the season with torn calf muscle. Liverpool is taking quite a chance with the talented striker as he is still recovering from the injury.

The transfer fee is confirmed being a mere £375k. Sandro will most likely start playing for the Liverpool U21’s or see himself being loaned back to Spain and Liga Adelante as both Alavés and Racing Santander has enquired about the player.

CONFIRMED: 4 players leaving Liverpool

Last week Fabio Borini and Pepe Reina left for italian side A.C. Milan, this week no less than four players have left the Merseyside club.

Oussama Assaidi had a decent season on loan at Stoke last season and performed well enough to attracted interest from German side Bayer Leverkusen. With Martin Ashworth’s entry, Liverpool rarely plays with wide men and as of this the 26-year-old left winger felt he wouldn’t get enough game time which resulted in a £4.5m transfer to Leverkusen leaving both parties satisfied.

Kolo Touré’s transfer to Liverpool from Manchester City last season was widely questioned, and still, no question has been answered. Only making three appearances last season wasn’t enough for the 33-year-old Ivorian and he is now bound to join Al-Ain for the high quality football in the Arab Emirate. Not only doubling the central defender’s wage the transfer sum is said to be around £60.000 which the Arab club is due to pay over the following six months.

Stoke has confirmed a £4m transfer for Uruguayan defender Sebastián Coates. The 23-year-old had last season destroyed with injuries and haven’t played in competitive game for over a year. As Stoke’s Marc Muniesa is ruled out for about three months with a cruciate ligament injury the Uruguayan is supposed to be his replacement.

Backup keeper Brad Jones has agreed to a mutual termination of his contract as he felt his services would be more appreciated somewhere else. Sydney FC was reported to be interested in the Australian keeper although no official offer for him has been made.

Liverpool win another title!

This year’s FA Community Shield was a battle between league winners Liverpool and FA Cup winners Chelsea. On paper, a very even game, in reality, a brutal slaughter. Liverpool started the game rather poorly and didn’t have a shot at goal until the 39th minute when Suárez put a rebound from Gerrard’s free kick in the net. The following 51 minutes Liverpool maintained possession of the ball although not getting any chances until debutant Jon Flanagan managed to break through and make his first goal for Liverpool. He continued his debut in fantastic fashion with a beautiful assist to Suárez who scored his second goal of the game. Liverpool won the game at Wembley with 3-0 against the bookies favourite Chelsea.

French midfielder set to join Liverpool

Liverpool has confirmed that Yann M'Vila will join the club for a season long loan from Rubin Kazan. The French midfielder has been put aside in Russia only making 12 appearances in two seasons. The adaption to the much colder Russia has taken its toll on the defensive minded midfielder, who has suffered a lot of injuries since his arrival compared to his time in France.

"I'm very happy to be leaving the cold in Russia and I couldn't have come to a warmer welcome than here at Liverpool (11 degrees and raining). I feel satisfied with joining Liverpool as it's a club with great reputation and I hope I will contribute to the team."

The 24-year-old Frenchman started his career at Stade Rennais FC and made his first appearance for the club in 2009. The talented defensive midfielder immediately gained a starting position. After four years and 126 appearances Russian side Rubin Kazan made a £10.25m offer, an offer too good for Stade Rennais to dismiss. With the difficulties of adapting M'Vila only made 23 appearances for the Russian club before managing to strike a loan deal with Liverpool. There's said to be a clause in the contract stating the Merseyside club can permanently buy the player for around £7.5m.

Will be a pretty hard group but I as well think we can manage. I don't know yet, but I think there might be one or two new signings before the transfer window closes. Thank you for commenting :)

Liverpool drop first points

After the 3-0 win against Chelsea in the FA Community Shield Liverpool kept the momentum going with convincing wins against Cardiff and Watford, today they hit their first bump with a 2-2 draw against Fulham. Liverpool had the game in their hands as they were up 2-0, though individual mistakes led to Fulham scoring two goals, the first by Dimitar Berbatov in the 54th minute and the other by new signing Tokelo Rantie from Bournemouth in the 89th minute. "An unnecessary draw" says former player and now U18s coach Jamie Carragher.

Cardiff - Liverpool 0-1 Daniel Agger
Liverpool - Watford 3-0 Luis Suárez, Martin Skrtel
Fulham - Liverpool 2-2 Daniel Agger, Luis Suárez, Dimitar Berbatov, Tokelo Rantie

Tomorrow is the last day of the transfer window and Liverpool is expected to make a move for the 22-year-old German goalkeeper Bernd Leno. More on this later.

Liverpool: Two last minute signings confirmed

With barely an hour left until the transfer window closes Liverpool confirm two new signings, Étienne Capoue, 26, and Scott Carson, 28.
http://forzaitalianfootball.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Etienne-Capoue-Tottenham.jpg
Capoue was transfer listed by Tottenham after some indifferences between him and André Villas-Boas causing him being put in the freeze box and therefore being available for the low sum of £3.5m.

Angers SCO was the Frenchman’s first club address although he changed it for Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC after only a year. Capoue spent an impressive nine years at Toulouse before attracting interest from English club Tottenham. An £8.5m bid later the defensive midfielder moved to London. After a decent first half of the season making 16 appearances Capoue was placed in Villas-Boas freeze box and didn’t make another appearance for the entire season. Many Spurs fans are devastated he left for a rival team at such a low cost.

The signing of ex-Liverpool player Scott Carson has raised many eyebrows. Most experts were certain Liverpool would sign a new keeper as backup to Simon Mignolet, however rumour was that the new goalkeeper would be the promising 22-year-old Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen. Not a 28-year-old ex-academy player who was dropped by the club six years ago.

”I’m not gonna lie we were in talks with a couple of clubs. But Scott is the player we wanted, he is an experienced keeper who knows the ins and outs of both the club as well as the league” says manager Martin Ashworth at the press conference.

Scott Carson started his career at Cleator Moor but joined Leeds just after a year. Carson only made 3 appearances for Leeds before making a £750k transfer to Liverpool. During his first spell at Liverpool he was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton and Aston Villa. Not getting enough playtime at the Merseyside club he joined West Bromwich Albion for a fee of £3.3m. With three years and 110 appearances, he both managed to get relegated and then managing to get back in the top flight the following year. In 2011 Carson switched England for Turkey and Bursaspor in a £2.2m transfer. In 2013 he went back to England and newly relegated Wigan. The transfer from Wigan to Liverpool is said to be as high as £4m due to being completed very late on deadline day.

Atlético fails to impress

After a disappointing 1-2 loss at Anfield against Arsenal Liverpool set sails towards Spain and Vicente Calderón for a their first UEFA Champions League game since December 2009. According to several experts Atlético had the upper hand in the first leg due to the immense pressure at their home stadium. Though Liverpool were able to surprise the Spanish club who looked tired after facing Real Madrid twice and Barcelona once in the previous month. Liverpool managed to grab an important point and are now looking ahead towards their next Champions League clash against Steaua Bucharest at Anfield. A.C. Milan won their game against Steaua and are therefore in the lead of group C.

Barclays Premier League
Liverpool - Arsenal 1-2 Daniel Sturridge, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere

UEFA Champions League
Atlético Madrid - Liverpool 2-2 Gabi, Arda Turan, Lucas Leiva, Coutinho
