defensively strong 4-1-2-1-2

hi guys and girls,

I havent tended to make many tactics myself but feel this one could be very strong.

team instructions - control and fluid

additional instructions - retain possession, look for overlap and shoot on sight

FCR - Attacking - advanced forward
FCL - Attacking - poaching
AMC - Attacking - Enguarde
MCR - Support - Advanced playmaker
MCL - Support - deep lying playmaker
DMC - Defence - Anchorman
DR - Automatic - Full back
DL - Automatic - Full back
DC - Defense - Centre Back
DC - Defense - Centre back
GK - Defense - Goalkeeper

I hope i can get some viewpoints on how good it is. would love a wide variety of testing done in different leagues.


I have started with manchester united but have not spent any money. looking to work through the youth players. im top of the table - 8 won, 1 drew, 1 lost - only conceded 3 goals and top of the champions league domination ac milan, anderlecht.

In general United tend to play with wide players and lots of width.
Is this your default tactics?
I prefer 1 main striker when I'm trying to play defensively.
The United team at the start of the game has lots of good wide players and IMO less so DM/CM so because of that, I personally wouldn't use these tactics.
