My FC Twente side plays with classic 4-4-2 (Rigid, Control) formation with much success. However, my assistant manager tells me during games that theres too much space between my midfield and attack and because of this there isn't enough supply. Also the gap between my defense and midfield is allegedly too big so that the opposition can control the ball within my half with ease.
Is there a way to fix this with correct player roles and without changing the formations or instrutions to more of a fluid approach. Currently my wingers are attacking, my two midfielders are Deep Lying Playmaker(support) and Central Midfielder(Defense) and my strikers Deep Lying Forward(support) and Advanced Forward(attack). Also, my other Centra-back is a stopper
