Why Hertha?

A youthful squad with a lot of potential. A tough challenge with restricted budgets and a squad lacking depth in areas.

Hertha BSC Coach Jos Luhukay parts ways with club

Hertha Berlin have reached a mutual agreement with Dutch Luhukay, which has resulted in the termination of his contract with the German club. This comes off the back of a 2012/13 season which saw him lead Hertha to the 2.Bundesliga title, and in doing so returning to the Bundesliga.
The 50 year-old is believed to be angered by the lack of funds being pumped into the club. He said, "I feel disrespected. I helped this club back to a very tough division, which is hard to compete in especially when you've been promoted. "You can't expect much if you don't give me room to strengthen and let me mark my stamp on the club! I feel as if I would be better off at a club where you are rewarded for success and you have more opportunity for improvement. I would like to thank all the Hertha fans for their support in my short tenure." Jos had only been manager for a year at the club, and is poised to remain in the country. But who will replace the man in Berlin?

Hahn announced as Berlin Coach

http://i59.tinypic.com/2ijosnm.jpg
Hertha BSC have announced their new head coach will be German Maximilian Hahn. The man, relatively unknown, is inexperienced and will generally be seen as a big risk for Berlin to take. He is only 24 years-old, but he has risen through the ranks of the club with an impressive football mind, after retiring as a youth player for the Olympic Stadium outfit. He takes the reigns on a one-year contract. He commented, "This is a dream come true. I dreamed of being a captain for this team, but this role is pretty special too. I really hope my love and determination for this club will help guide us to success. I understand Hertha have taken a risk in me, but I hope to quash any doubt in the fans' mind. I'm one of you.
"If Luhukay wants to complain about funds, he can go somewhere else. I understand the financial situation. It can help us by making us test our youth players which behold much potential. This is the beginning of the Hahn era."
Good luck man. Hopefully you can bring a Champions League title to Berlin, especially in the 2015 final.
Good luck man !
Thanks guys.

Hertha shine in pre-season

Berlin were on fire in pre-season, with a shock victory over Serie A champions Juventus in a close-fought game. BSC won all 8 games, an impressive feat under recently appointed Hahn. The German said, "What can I say? Yes, we were expected to win most games, but to win each one is very exciting for me. It shows the potential of our team. But we can't get ahead of ourselves, as we face Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion in our first Bundesliga battle. We have to prepare oursleves. I was very impressed with Adrian (Ramos), Hany (Mukhtar) and Fabian (Lustenberger) especially, but the way we played as a unit was the most satisfying factor".

Hertha announce facility upgrades

Hertha BSC have confirmed reports they are to upgrade both their training and youth facilities at a combined cost of £6,900,000. Coach Maximilian Hahn commented, "While we can't bring in any players due to our budget restrictions, it's great that the board are investing into the future of this club to help it become more sustainable. I hope these upgrades can help our young gems fulfil their potential. This is exciting; it shows the ambition of our club."
Fantastic to see your facilities upgraded, will bring more youth AND attract players for the future :). Sick banner, you ought to teach me mate :P
Thanks man appreciate it. Hopefully it does :)
A great pre-season under your belts. What are your aims for the season?

August & September

Despite a loss in the first Bundesliga game to Dortmund, promoted Hertha Berlin progressed to the third round of the German Cup, including an impressive last-minute draw at Wolfsburg and a Ronny-inspired victory over Gladbach. The capital city outfit were not shy of goals, netting 20 in 9 games. Despite a good feeling around the club, they face first-placed Bayern, Bundesliga and Champions League winners, in their first September fixture. Will Hahn's side be brought back down to earth after a surprise start?
