November: Consistent Progress

02/11/2013 | Lille 2-1 AS Monaco | Stade Pierre Mauroy

Lille:
Kalou (pen 7) Martin (17)
Mavuba

AS Monaco:
Berbatov (52)
Kurzawa
Kurzawa

Martin (7.7)

A fantastic start to the month, against newly promoted but big money spenders AS Monaco, all the pressure was on them to perform today, spending unearthly pounds on a shed load of talent, but on the day it was Lille that came out on top. They came flying out the blocks managed to get their selves a penalty early on and Kalou on his return scored. Ten minutes later Martin doubled the home sides lead, with a perfectly executed chip! Lille went into halftime on top on all stats, the second half wasn't as lackluster as the first but there was a consolation goal for Monaco when Berbatov found himself with a tap in from 6 yards out, he couldn't possibly of missed. A typical Berbatov goal in all fairness, the only other action in the half was Kurzawa being booked twice for two daft fouls and he was dismissed on the 67th minute. A superb win for everyone involved at Lille and they stay top!

09/11/2013 | En Avant de Guingamp 1-4 Lille | Stade du Roudourou

En Avant de Guingamp:
Douniama (11)
Sankharé, Diallo

Lille:
Kjaer (6) Martin (19) Kalou (pen 49) Mathis (og)(57)
Souaré, Béria & Balmont

Martin (8.9)

The final of the back to back games against newly opposition saw us come up against, in compared to Monaco, relatively easy opposition. Lille were expected to win heavily and they did so, notching up 4 goals. All be it one was an own goal but had he not of put it in his own net then Origi was there waiting. We were disappointed not to have kept the clean sheet but we move on to the next, still unbeaten this month and still top.

23/11/2013 | Lille 2-0 Toulouse | Stade Pierre Mauroy

Lille:
Kalou (69, 80)
Gueye

Toulouse:
N/A
Zebina, Chantome

Kalou (9.0)

Our third game of the month saw us come up against surprise strugglers Toulouse, Lille fielded a different starting lineup than what people were used to seeing this term. Both teams contested well in the first half and they went into halftime both locked level at 0-0 but it was only in the second half when Kalou came on as a sub. He carried on his rich vain of form and bagged two goals to send the 3 points to Lille, a very professional performance all round, I was able to look at other options and also happy with the clean sheet.

29/11/2013 | Valenciennes 0-2 Lille | Stade du Hainaut

Valenciennes:
N/A
Doumbia, Rose
Doumbia

Lille:
Origi (34, 89)
Béria, Kjaer, Stocker & Sidibe

Origi (8.8)

Our final test of the month, and we performed superbly. We dominated the possession and created just short of 20 attempts at goal. We dominated in all fairness against pretty weak opposition, we got the two goals and shut up shop after. We did well to keep the clean sheet and end up with a 100% win ratio for the month. Onto the next!

Player of the Month

The player of the month for November, pretty much picks itself... Kalou came back from injury and absolutely tore the opposition defence to shreds, scoring goals and just being an all around nightmare for opposition he has faced. He has almost single handedly kept us unbeaten this month with his performances and I hope it continues for a long time!
Wow what a month man, especially the great win against Monaco! You're doing magnificently in the league and Kalou is working absolute wonders for you. Keep it up and maybe you can win this league!
