Thanks mate :) hopefully get to the end of pre-season before I need to leave for uni :)
Transfer windows can be brutal.

I settled myself at my desk, the club's finance sheets in front of me...If we were going to be competitive in seasons to come, then the finances would need sorted out. There were so many players on huge contracts...and some of them didn't deserve to be. I started making notes, based on training performances and wages, and started re-shaping the squad.

*knock*
Come in.
I looked up. Standing before me was a giant hulk of a man, who I had never seen before in my life...
Can I help you sir?

Actually yes, I believe we've already spoken on the telephone Mr Myron?

Why are you here? I've already told you that your proposition wasn't satisfactory.

Ah, that is certainly unfortunate...

A wicked, evil grin crossed this man's face, and he nodded, almost imperceptibly. There was a white-hot flash of pain in the back of my head, and then darkness.

When I came to, the darkness had barely lifted. I strained my eyes, trying to make out any sort of furniture or lighting, but the room was bare. And cold. Too cold to be in Greece. Slowly, i got to my feet, aware that every nerve in my body was screaming in protest. I slowly analysed the pain, testing each part of my body in turn...Neck, fine, shoulders and arms, fine, legs...

I was on the floor again...my left leg had completely collapsed under my weight...my ACL injury flared up on occasion, but this was different...outside, I heard a gunshot, far too close for comfort...
The tension! I wonder where you've ended up...

that means a lot Niko, thankyou :)
Another gunshot....closer this time. I could hear screaming, men shouting, children crying. But I couldn't see a thing. The room was pitch black. I was more scared now than I had ever been in my life. And then, from somewhere...Light. Light flooded the room, and I looked for it's source. Standing in a now opened doorway was a slightly-built, exceedingly calm looking man. He gestured with his gun for me to move closer

If you wanna stay alive, you'll come with me now son!

I can't walk...What's going on?!

You're gonna have to try! It'll all be explained later!

I pulled myself to my feet, shambling across the room to the door. The mysterious figure grabbed me by the scruff of the neck, pushing my head down, and started pushing me through the corridor, through plumes of smoke and flying debris, stopping only to check corners and doorways, before pushing on further, down stairs, through service tunnels, and finally, into the open air.

But there was no improvement, in fact, it was worse; car alarms, loud screaming, putrid smoke, and bodies...bodies strewn over the ground, more falling at every moment.

Before long, we reached a car which was untouched by whatever conflict was going on at that moment, I was bundled in, and off it sped, while my rescuer turned to join the battle. In the rear-view mirror, I saw him take a bullet to the leg, but he continued to fight on....
I awoke groggy, my vision blurred, and my head pounding. I tried to sit up, but found myself restrained. I couldn't process what was going on. Blurry shapes surrounded me, shadows of people pacing back and forth, mumbled words and the rustling of papers.

Gradually, my senses adjusted to the harsh lighting and chemically clean smells, and I could make out white jackets, a balding, grey man turned to face me as I struggled to sit up.

"Don't struggle, you're safe now

His voice was soothing; almost hypnotic. I settled back into the pillows behind my head, trying desperately to formulate the sentence I wanted to say; to ask the questions which needed asked, but nothing came. I felt tears of frustration in my eyes, tears which I could not wipe.

"What....Ha...

I couldn't finish the sentence. My mind was reeling as it replayed the events up until now, from the assault in my own office, to a war-torn city, to the back of a strange car, and now here. Perhaps if I was managing a top-level team, which people would have an interest in, then this would be viable, but I wasn't. I was in charge of the worst team in Greek football. A team without a single trophy to its name.

Just then, a different voice entered my head; a female voice, soothing, relaxing...and...and sexy! I turned to identify its source, but whatever pain medication i'd been fed took effect, and I blacked out before I could meet the gaze of anyone new.
