MIA SAN MIA
A quick history

Many people really do not understand the importance of FC Bayern München and pass them off as a super club who just steal players from other German clubs. Well yes they do add players from other clubs but there is more to the team than the casual observer knows.

Founded in 1900 the club has evolved from just being a football club. Bayern is a company with many sports including Basketball, Gymnastics, Table Tennis and much more. Bayern are no longer just big in Germany and Europe but are global now. Earlier in 2013 the club announced their intentions to globalize. Thanks to this they now have offices in the US and China, will be touring the US in 2014 and have twitter set up in English and Spanish.

Bayern are the Rekordmeister of Germany. That means they are the record champions. As of today FC Bayern have won 24 championship. 23 of them have came during the Bundesliga Era (1963-present). The first title was achieved during the 1931-1932 season. This was important since this was the year before Adolph Hitler and the NSDAP took over. Why so important? Well at the time the Nazis took over a few people including the president and head coach left the country. They were taunted as a "jew" club.

Now travel 31 years later the Bundesliga was formed. It wasn't until the 1968-69 season that Bayern won their first of twenty-three Bundi titles. It was also their first Double winning the DFB-Pokal as well. The 1970s would be a time of change for the clubs. From 1974-1976 Bayern won three straight European Cups. During this decade they also won four Bundesliga titles and one DFB-Pokal. This was also a time of superstars such as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Gerd Müller and Franz Beckenbauer lead the club to glory.

Fast forward to the 2012-13 season. Manager Jupp Heynckes would lead the club to their best year yet. It was on the evening of June 1, 2013 after a 3-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart , he would solidify his name into Bayern history by winning the Triple (Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB-Pokal). On 26 June a new face came into the picture Josep "Pep" Guardiola. He would become the clubs newest manager. In his first year he has won the UEFA Super Cup and Bundesliga and are in the DFB-Pokal final vs Dortmund and the Champions League Semifinal.
http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de/media.facebook.3a3c7ec5-c6d9-4cf6-83e2-8fd073692932.normalized.jpg

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Gerd Müller Franz Beckenbauer, Michael Ballack, Mark van Bommel, Oliver Kahn, Philipp Lahm, Arjen Robben, Frank Ribery, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Jupp Heynckes, Louis van Gaal, Ottmar Hitzfeld and Udo Lattek have all made names for themselves', by being a part of Bayern history and folklore.

Now it is up to the likes of Pep Guardiola, Julian Green, Ylli Sallhi, Pierre Emile Højbjerg, Tony Kroos, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba, Thiago, Xherdian Shaqiri and Holger badstuber, to step up and create a name for themselves and be
remembered along with the greats mentioned above.

The story begins 26 June 2014. Who will be the next set of players and coaches to leave their mark in Munich?

That was our PAST, this is our PRESENT, what will be our FUTURE?
Outstanding update! Some really good history in there! Looking forward to seeing how this story pans out.

First Meetings

18 June 2013
Säbener Strasse, Munich

Today is my first day on the job here in Munich. It is a lovely city and I am glad to be here. Now it is time to get down to business since we start training camp in a week. First thing first is that my German has vastly improved, I never thought it would be this easy especially learning in New York City. First thing first is my meeting with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

KHR: I am glad to see you once again Josep, are you ready to go over a few things?
PG: Yes I am and you can call me Pep.
KHR: Well no problem but I want to stay professional if it is fine with you?
PG: sure!!
KHR: So I have a few things to go over with you like expectations.
PG: Ok
KHR: Well as you know we just won the triple so there is a lot to cover. You are expected to win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. The Club World Cup and DFL Supercup are not as important but we expect victories in both. Champions League we want to see you in the Semi Finals or later. Next year since it is in Berlin you are expected to win. Are these fine with you?
PG: Yes, I think they are all achievable.
KHR: At Bayern we want you to play possession football and develop youth. Are you up to these?
PG: Yes sir!
KHR: Well that is all

Later on I get to talk with my staff for our first meeting of the year. A bunch of the guys have been a part of the staff and I will be looking for guidance from them. From my time I have bought in; Domench Torrent, Charles Planchart and Lorenzo Buenaventura. I really wanted to bring my good friend Tito (Vilanova) to the staff but he needed a break. I feel bad for him but he is such a strong individual.

DM: Domench Torrent
GM: Gerd Müller
EH: Eric ten Hag
MS: Matthias Sammer
PB: Paul Breitner
HM: Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt

PG: Hey everyone I have called this meeting to discuss a few things before we the

preseason begins and to get to know each other. I feel we can dominate this year. With our knowledge of the game I can see another triple.
Everyone agrees and then we introduce ourselves.

PG: So I first thing I want to talk about is Tactics. I want to run a 4-1-41 formation as well as a 4-2-3-1. Here I sent you all a PowerPoint with information on the two tactics. Next up Eric, I want to see FCB II get promoted in the next few years to the 3. Liga, can you do this?
EH: Yes but it might take time.
PG: Who are the best youth prospects?
EH: Patrick Weihrauch, Julian Green, Mitchell Weiser and Pierre Højbjerg.
PG: What is the status of Holger Bdstuber Hans-Wilhelm?
HM: Not good sir might be out all season.
PG: Damnit!!! Well that is all for now. We will meet again once camp starts out.

So that's all she wrote. My first two major meetings were a success. A few days from now the players return for physicals.

Random Bayern Fact: USMNT Captain Landon Donovan once was loaned out to Bayern in 2010. He made six appearances and scored no goals.

FC Bayern 4-1 FC Bayern II
Match Review

18 June 2013
Säbener Strasse, Munich

Well a few days into the players arrival to the training ground I had set up a nice warm up match against our U23 squad. Boy was I pleased. The first team won 4-1 and FCB II got a goal and looked on point. I was a bit worried about the 4-1-4-1 but it now looks like a good formation. So after the match I meet up with the staff on both sides and we reviewed tapes and the stats. Here is what happened.

Overall the coaching staff were pleased about the results. At this point possession is quite low at 57% but I will let that slide as it was the first competitive match for both groups together. I was really impressed by Daniel Van Buyton as he scored two goals. Next up we face Saitama UTD in three days. We will be having light two a day practices and light conditioning.

Random Bayern Fact: The price to build the Allianz Arena was 365.000.000€
Good start to the story! It's always fun to take charge of the club you love! :)

Random Zagreb fact: The cost to renovate the Maksimir Stadium, which is anything but renovated costed more than the cost to build the Allianz Arena due to rampant corruption and general disregard for ethics.

Wow I had no clue about all of that but I am not surprised since I know their history of corruption.
