I've only just picked up 2014 and obviously there have been some significant changes so I have a few questions.

First up, every version has it's own quirks and i'm wondering if i've encountered one.

I started my career in charge of Watford and in the the first season, with very little change to the team, I made the play-offs. I didn't win promotion. The next season, there were a few changes to the team, mainly old players who didn't feature in the previous season anyway, and I got destroyed. By November I was sacked with the team only winning six games and regularly losing by 4 or more goals. I can't understand why that happened with a team pretty much the same as before.

I started a new career and several since then but now I can't seem to get through even one season properly. Is this just the computer saying - this season your team is screwed? or could I be doing something significantly wrong? Watford seems like a decent basic team and i'm only adding Kleber (left wing brazilian, age 33, on free signing) and Nuno Gomes (also free signing) They were brilliant in my first season.

Second. Is there a good thread on training as the system has totally changed?

Finally. Has anyone ever successfully developed Bernard Mensah?
Wow that's an impressive record!

Have you tried a change of tactics. The updates have this knack of sending a team who play brilliantly under a certain set of proven tactics into a spiral of oblivion! Try changing it about to suit the players you have and their strengths. If you're shipping goals, try playing a holding midfielder to shore up the defence, if you're struggling to score, try two up top or two inside forwards to help chip in.

Watford is a good club to start at with some good young players (Sean Murray and Lee Hodgson) but at the same time the Championship is a very competitive league to try to get out of. What expectations did you set when you started?
