Laudrup Wins First Game In Charge

Hoffenheim fans got to see their new manager Michael Laudrup for the first time in a competitive match as his side took on RB Leipzig in the 1st round of the German cup. Hoffnheim fans are hoping that Laudrup can work his magic with their team and deliver silverware for the club. Hoffenheim fans also got to see new signing Kolasinic start his first game for Hoffenheim.

Laudrup's first team line up

Hoffenheim were expected to win comfortably against the opposition from the Thrid Division in Germany. The first goal of the Laudrup reign came from striker M Anthony Modeste, turning away from the defence and slotting the ball into the corner of the net. Modeste scored again after half time to double the visitors advantage, once again proving a clinical finish. RB Leipzig nearly got one back when Tim Albuat's header hit the woodwork. Roberto Firmino scored his first goal of the campaign when his shot took a big deflection giving the keeper no chance. Tim Albutat then gave away a penalty which Modeste converted to seal his hat-trick. Tarik Elyounoussi mad it 5-0 2 minutes before the end.

[I"]I am very pleased with how we performed today. We took our chances well and now head into the season opener with confidence. Although we played a team much smaller than us it still showed the style of football we want to play and the goals we aim to score to entertain the public watching. I thought Anthony(Modeste) was exceptional today and deserved his three goals."This was Michael Laudrup's reaction after his team advanced in the German Cup.
