I've been a Spurs fan near enough all my life, and, ever since Ledley retired, I wondered what he would be like as a manager. It would fit, wouldn't it, for a legend of Tottenham to go on to manage the very same team he's a legend at? I hope that I will be able too finally overcome our rivals, Arsenal, and also to lead the squad to being one of the best in the world, as I know we can be.

I hope you enjoy!

KING ANNOUNCED AS NEW MANAGER

Ledley King, above, has been named Spurs' next manager

Tottenham Hotspur have made a shock move by instating Ledley King, Spurs legend, as their new head coach to take over from Tim Sherwood. The Spurs legend has been unavailable for comment, as has chairman Daniel Levy, but Spurs favorite Robbie Keane has questioned King's ability to manager a club as ambitious as Tottenham.

Keane is unsure if an unproven coach like King is right to take the team forward.

'It seems a strange one to me,' said Keane. 'Especially when they had other proven Premier League managers to look at, it seems risky that they've put Ledley in charge.'

Spurs fans, however, are delighted at their legend's appointment, and one very happy fan rang in to Sky Sports earlier today to express his belief that King is the right man.
'He fits perfectly into what we need,' said Joey, from London. 'He knows the squad, he knows the staff, he knows the way we work best; he's perfect for the job.'

King will be tested in his first match in charge against Norwich, after two friendly matches where he will want to get his bearings of being in charge of his squad. He will also be given around 25m to spend on players, with the expectation of getting into the Champions League.

Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao signs for Spurs

Ledley King's first signing is Coentrao, who he acquired for as little as £5.5m

The signing of Fabio Coentrao marks Ledley King's first act as Tottenham manager today, whom he signing for a bargain of £5.5m.
'I am delighted to welcome Fabio to the club, I am sure he will have a big influence on our success,' said King, sat alongside Coentrao. When asked if the fact that Coentrao doesn't speak English would be an issue, King said that he had no worries and that 'football is a universal language.'

Coentrao has been put on a five year deal, £75,000 a week. This new signing puts Danny Rose's future at the club in huge doubt, especially after his poor performances last season.
Good luck pal :) Will follow as a fellow Spurs fan.

Subotic linked with Spurs

Dortmund's rock-solid defender Subotic, above, has been heavily linked with Tottenham
Subotic's agent has today confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Dortmund about a possible transfer.
However, Subotic is going to cost no less than £15.5m, says Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who rates the young defender, who has plenty of potential to add onto his already impressive form, as a first teem player.

Klopp is refusing to even talk about the sale of Subotic unless he is guaranteed £15.5m from the deal, at least.
Ledley King, although he would like to follow his chairman's legacy of getting cheaper players, looks set to spend the money on Subotic as he looks to strengthen his defence. King has already added a left back to his squad in Coentrao, who was injured in his very first match with Spurs against Leon.

Subotic joins Spurs on a £44k salary

Neven Subotic has today agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur for £44k a week
Ledley King has confirmed that his second movement in his first transfer window has resulted in success, having secured the services of Neven Subotic, from Dortmund, for a reported £15.75m.
'I'm very happy to welcome Neven to the club,' said King, in a press conference to unveil Subotic earlier. 'It took a lot of work to get him here, but here he is and I know that the hard work will have been worth it.'

King was then asked who would be dropped to make space of Subotic.

'I'm going to fiddle around with that back four a bit,' he said. 'See what works, see what doesn't, and then hopefully by the end of it I shall have a good idea of who needs to be in that defensive line and who doesn't.'

Ledley King took multiple questions from Sky Sports in the press conference.

'I'm very happy to be at such a hard-working club,' said Subotic. 'The ambition and determination of both the staff and players is fantastic. I am proud to be a part of it and I look forward to attempting to make a difference to the results we get.'

Ledley's Verdict

Euro Cup has started off well, but some dissapointing draws in the first two matches of the league. The general physical condition of the team hasn't been fantastic, so some of the poor performances may be down to that. We've got a break before our first game of September against Chelsea, so perhaps we will pick up a bit of form.
Transfer Window roundup will come tomorrow! :)
Not the best start mate...but keep working! Congrats on signing Subotic
