Truro City icon and captain Stewart Yetton played his 400th game for the club against Cambridge United on the weekend. Truro came out victorious 3-1 with Yetton scoring in the 74th minute to seal the victory.

Yetton first played for Truro in 2005, he returned to Treyew Road in 2014 where he has seen Truro promoted to the Skrill Premier as well as lifted the FA Trophy since returning to the club. Overall he has scored 280 goals for the club in his 400 appearances.
Nice 400 at one club is amazing.

Truro then travelled to The New Lawn which saw them dominate Forest Green 4-2, only to lose their first game of the month in a 3-2 loss to Chester. In the 3-1 victory over North Ferriby, Niall Thompson bagged a hat-trick in an amazing individual display. Nathan Thomas’ goal against Alfreton proved the difference as Truro took the 1-0 victory. In the final fixture of the month, Truro defeated Lincoln City 1-0 with Nathan Thomas scoring the winning goal in the 61st minute.

It was an impressive month overall for Truro City with the manager receiving the Skrill Premier Manager of the Month award after leading his side to six league victories in seven matches.

Despite only just surviving the drop last season and heading into this season with reduced wages, Truro has managed to start off the year in an impressive fashion. Truro are currently 3 points away from first place and 19 points clear of the relegation zone.

Truro began the month drawing 2-2 to Southport and then defeated Eastleigh 4-0 with both teams currently at the bottom of the league table. The next fixture saw first play second when Truro met Gateshead at Treyew Road. Niall Thompson scored in the 47th minute to see Truro take the lead until Gareth Evans equalised in the 67th minute to see the game finish at 1-1.

Next up, Truro City faced non-league side Cray Wanderers in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round where James Guthrie and Jared Sims ensured a 2-1 victory. A Ryan Bird goal in the last minute of injury time saw Ebbsfleet manage to get a point in a 3-3 draw with Truro.

In a strange match, Truro defeated AFC Wimbledon 4-2. The sides were locked at 2-2 when Truro’s Arran Pugh was sent off in the 54th minute with Stewart Yetton responding by scoring a minute later. Jared Sims added a fourth goal when he shot from outside the box putting the ball past Ian Ormson to seal the victory.

The final match of the month saw James Guthrie score from a Joe McClennan cross to defeat Blyth 1-0 and put Truro into the FA Cup 2nd Round where they will play the winner of a match between Dagenham & Redbridge or Ilkeston.
