• Dan Green & Ladjie Soukouna both receive a five year ban from football
• Matthew Etherington receives a lifelong ban from coaching
• Truro City Football Club has not received any punishment
The English FA has held a hearing regarding the Truro match fixing scandal and has handed down punishments to those involved. All three individuals involved plead guilty with Dan Green & Ladjie Soukouna receiving a five year ban from football while Truro coach Matthew Etherington has received a lifelong ban from coaching.
Truro City Football Club has escaped any punishment as they were not aware of the happenings of the incident and when it came to light they were co-operative with both the authorities and the English FA.
“We are glad that the club has been cleared and that the individuals involved have been punished.” said Truro City Chairman David Cardoza in a press conference earlier today. “Our next step as a club is to come together and do our best to be successful on the pitch.” he added.
All three individuals involved will face trial in February with loan shark John Kiely expected to be trialled alongside the trio.
