White Tigers Return To Treyew Road

http://s105.photobucket.com/user/chrisgriffin89/media/truro-city_zpsc6698b40.jpg.html

The expansion of Truro City’s ground Treyew Road has been completed. Truro has been playing at Plymouth’s Home Ground for their home fixtures for the past five months but will now return to a ground with a capacity of 4,000.

The return should see a boost in Truro City’s performances with the side currently sitting just outside the relegation zone in 18th in the Skrill Premier.
Good to see you back at your ground.. hopefully you fill it every week

A brace from Stewart Yetton in Truro’s return to Treyew Road allowed us to salvage a point against Cambridge after being down 3-1. We then took on Southport in the FA Trophy Second Round which saw all five goals scored in the first half as Truro ran out winners 3-2.

After losing to fellow relegation candidates Tamworth, we played Southport once again with the same result occuring, this time two goals from Stewart Yetton proving the difference.

No real change in our position, maintaining our points difference advantage could prove vital towards the end of the season.
Your results are getting better!

Truro began the month with back to back losses in solid performances which didn’t deserve the end result. They then went to Ram Meadow to play Bury Town in the FA Trophy 3rd Round and coming away with an impressive 5-2 victory.

A draw at home against FC Halifax followed by a 2-0 victory over Harrogate were good results as was a 2-2 draw to last placed Hayes & Yeading after Jamie Beasley was sent off in the 58th minute.

To end the month, Truro played Harrogate once again but this time in the FA Trophy 4th Round and ran out victorious 3-0 with Stewart Yetton scoring twice. Truro will now take on Barnet in the FA Trophy Semi-Final with the first leg to be played at Treyew Road. There is only one fixture between the two legs for Truro with that match scheduled to also be against Barnet.

Despite being in 19th the five point gap from the relegation zone is a positive.
You'll stay up, I'm sure :)

In the first minute of the second half, Will Beesley fouled Nick Crittenden in the box and Billy Jones fired in the penalty low and hard to see Truro City take a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Jamie Lowry received a yellow card for a foul on Ryan Lloyd.

Chances went back and forth between the two sides until substitute Mauro Vilhete levelled the score for Barnet with a tremendous strike from outside the box and into the top right corner in the first minute of injury time to see the game finish 1-1.

The second leg will be played at The Hive with both teams scheduled to play each other before that in a Skrill Premier fixture at Treyew Road.

Saturday, 20th of February 2016
The Hive
Attendance: 1,305

Truro City (4-2-3-1)
Chenoweth, Green, Pugh, Richards, Jones, Soukouna, Harding, Wheatley, Sims, Beasley, Yetton
Subs Used: Lowry, Crittenden, Lucas
Not Used: Miles, Payne
Goals: Yetton (33, 45, 68), Beasley (53), Wheatley (59)

Subs Used: Gambin, Crawford, Chambers

Goals: Vilhete (3), Sykes (62, 63)

Mauro Vilhete got Barnet off to a great start when he was put through by George Sykes and hit a shot across Ollie Chenoweth to score in the 3rd Minute. In the 33rd minute, Stewart Yetton levelled the score with a left footed strike and then gave Truro the lead by knocking the ball in during a scramble just before half-time.

Just after the break, Jamie Beasley scored after a through ball from Stewart Yetton saw him one on one with the keeper and then Sol Wheatley scored after having his initial shot blocked, scoring from the rebound to give Truro a 4-1 lead.

This lead didn’t last long as George Sykes scored two goals in two minutes to bring Barnet back with in a goal until Stewart Yetton completed his hat-trick by controlling a Billy Jones cross and placing the ball past Andy Coughlin in the 68th minute.

Truro continued to dominate play but failed to score as Barnet fans left the ground early. Jamie Beasley injured his leg in the 86th minute but there was nothing Barnet could do to prevent Truro from progressing into the FA Trophy Final.

Truro will now head to Wembley to face FC Halifax. The two sides have met twice in the Skrill Premier this year with both games finishing with the scores level.
Into the final! I expect to see some silverware ;) What a game, by the way, loads of goals! :O
