Truro began the month with a 1-0 loss to Chester in a poor performance. Then after the first leg of the FA Trophy Semi-Final they played their opponents in that fixture Barnet, winning 3-1.

After the second leg, Truro lost to Lincoln City 5-3 with Lincoln’s Ben Tomlinson finishing the game with a hat-trick. In the final match of the month, Truro came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 with Sol Wheatley scoring twice.

Allen Moves To Truro

It has been announced today that Truro City has signed ex-Plymouth player River Allen on a free transfer. Allen was available after his contact with Plymouth expired and is expected to join his new team in the coming days.

Allen is a Truro local and is named after the River Allen which is one of two watercourses to the north of Truro which share the name. At only 20 years of age, Allen has shown good potential and is expected to help Truro survive the relegation battle they are currently enduring.

The two clubs participated in their FA Trophy Final debuts, entertaining the most amount of spectators in each of their respective histories.

Truro got off to a flyer when Jamie Richards opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header from a Billy Jones corner. Jared Sims extended that lead when he scored from a Stewart Yetton cross. Things got even worse for FC Halifax when Sol Wheatley extended the lead to 3-0 with a placed shot in the 30th minute.

Things began to look brighter for FC Halifax when Ntumba Massanka scored from a Niall Dawkins cross late in the first half. Straight after bringing the score back to 3-1, Jack Bradley was forced off with an ankle injury as the teams headed to the change rooms for half-time.

After the break Truro controlled possession playing FC Halifax out of the game until Chris Candasamy scored in the 89th minute, giving FC Halifax a small hope but eventually the referees whistle blew as Truro City fans and players alike began to celebrate their victory.

Truro icon Lee Hodges told the media “I am on cloud nine following the success, I can’t even imagine how delighted the Truro fans are at this time”. Fellow icon and captain Stewart Yetton said “This is something I could never have dreamed of and to do it with the club I love makes it even more special”.

Truro will now turn their attention to the Skrill Premier where they are still facing the threat of relegation. Regardless of how the rest of the season turns out, this season will always be a memorable one for the Treyew Road faithful.

In the first fixture of the month, Truro played Macclesfield in an amazing game. Down 4-0 at half time, Truro came back to level the score at 4-4 with Stewart Yetton scoring all four goals. Chris Holroyd scored in the 84th minute to give Macclesfield a 5-4 lead only for Stewart Yetton to score for the fifth time in injury time to see the game finish 5-5.

After the epic encounter against Macclesfield, Truro City suffered a major form slump, losing the next four matches. Truro had their chances in all four matches but failed to earn a single point.

After claiming the FA Trophy, Truro saw an end to their poor league form with a 1-0 win over Aldershot thanks to a 35 yard screamer from Ben Harding. A goal that Truro fans are regarding as the greatest goal scored by anyone in the clubs history.

With only four games left, Truro has to get some points to ensure safety. The fixture against Hereford on the 2nd of April will be important.
