In the 3rd minute, Jared Sims sent Truro fans into raptures when he put the ball past Ben Amos from a Niall Thompson free kick in a goal which saw the semi-professional side from Cornwall lead Manchester United 1-0. The Truro fans joy was short lived however when Angelo Henriquez equalised two minutes later.
Truro managed to hold off numerous attacks until in the 37th minute Angelo Henriquez headed home a Juan Mata cross to give United the lead. Before the end of the first half, Truro defender Billy Jones received a yellow card for a poor tackle on Juan Mata.
Straight after the half time break, Juan Mata scored from a seemingly impossible angle to increase United’s lead. Billy Jones was then given his second yellow card after another poor tackle to put Truro down to 10 men. The dismissal of Billy Jones opened up the flood gates as United scored five more times in 40 minutes to see Manchester United come away victorious 8-1.
