*Phone Ringing*

...E? ai Caramba, who could it be at this time of the night?...

"Nossaaaa, quanto tempo Rivelino!"
"Desculpe, Who is this? Why are you calling at this time?"

"It's me, Mario, Mario Gobbi! President do Corinthians, we called because want to propose to you a once in a life opportunity! there is a vacant spot over here with your name on it!"

"What? Mario? I don't understand..."

"It's simple old amigo, we want you to represent the most illustrative club in Brazil this year, the year of the World Cup - your job will be to do your Club and your Country a favor, you must play amazing football, as you did when you were a player and attract fans to the Selecao. You will be our ambassador!"

"Wow... I would be more than honored to. I'll come over first thing in the morning, but this has been all very sudden, I have to rest and think... Bona noche Mario, Atè mais."

-----------------

And that was the start of it all, a simple call at 4 in the morning... My life, would soon be changing.

As the days past, Roberto found himself taking the job with much more enthusiasm than when he first started. It was growing on him, the feeling of bringing Brazil back... To it's former glory - starting it all from here, the domestic appeal, the national pride of Brazil, where true talent was born and shaped.

Insisting the Board to give him all the necessary founds to create a "Winning Squad" the Board agreed, and thus funds were renewed - and now, two amazing signings for Corinthian were about to set foot into the team, and they were:

Ganso, 23 year old cultured midfielder, his technical and mental abilities were above the average, althought he probably would need to improve his physical attributes over time.

Cost: 6.25m + Bonus.

Leandro Damiao, 23 year old powerful striker. One of the most fearful players in Brazil, a goal-scoring machine.

Cost: 10.5m + Bonus.

"Bem-Vindos Ganso & Damiao, I've signed you because I saw you both as the best young talent Brazil had to offer right now. You two are the best of the best in our domestic league, and you should be proud of it... Because now you can play in the best Brazilian club of all time. We will do great things together."

The team was finally coming together, I felt ready to take on the world and show them what we were made of.
a very good start mate! Good luck!

Our first friendly would play today, I had to get a quick idea of what formation to play, who to send out, and who I'd help improve through the season... There was alot of things to do in pre-season, and not enough time to do it, but I didn't let this overwhelm me, I tried to always look in control of things, even when I probably was not...

2-2 Draw
- Leandro Kuszko 1' 8'
- Ralf 56'
- Danilo 67'

MOTM Danilo

8-15 Shots
46-54% Posession

The team was coming along, coming back from 2-0 to 2-2 showed character. I was happy with the performance, as it was just the first stepping stone to my long career here.

----------------------------

The next day I received an offer, it was for 34 year old Emerson. Udinese had offered 300k, and with the arrival of Leandro Damiao I thought it would be a good opportunity to get rid of a heavy wage in the squad, and open up more playing opportunities for the other forwards.

Sold for 300k +29k from his Wages

All that was left was to get ready for the first match of the Season, and I felt more than ready.

It was finally the first day of o Campeonao, la Liga do Brasil was starting and my palms were sweaty, but I also felt very excited... It had been 40 years since I played here, and now I could finally make my come back... As the Boss.

Palmeiras vs Corinthians (Away)

The game started, the whistle blowed and the players started off at 110%, some yellow cards flew by left and right but then... At the 25th minute...

Foul against Jadson.

Renauto Augusto sets the ball down infront of the barrier.

He inhaled, then exhaled, then...

GOAL! GOL GOL GOL!

Renato had done it! the first goal from my Corinthians, on a free kick. I was absolutely exstatic.

Fabio Santos then piled on the goals with a beautiful manouver on the 31' min.

We were looking completely in control of things.

- Half Time -

I complimented my boys, I was seeing exactly what I wanted - and so soon too! I couldn't even express my gratitude... Inside all I hoped for, was for this joy to continue on forever.

Renato Augusto was tired, so I decided to sub in Romarinho in his place. He had done well, and deserved his rest.

2nd half started, and with a bit of luck after not too long - we had a penalty awarded to us. Jadson had no problem to place it where the GK couldn't reach it, 49' min and we were 3-0.

Unfortunately on the 67th minute things began to look a bit sour, as Romarinho picked up an Injury and had to be subbed out...

And so it ended. It was my first official game, my first official victory and I owed it all to these boys...

I just knew this first Season would be special. Because I felt like the team I was working with, was also special.
As a big fan of South American football I will definitely follow! I'm a Botafogo supporter myself but I'll still follow!

Btw, get ready for a very long season, they go forever in Brazil ;)
