Introduction
Herro everyone, I am back doing my second story after a very successful single season at Arsenal. I asked for suggestions in the general chat and somebody suggested a Serie A team. Knowing myself I decided to choose arguably the best Serie A team known as Juventus. I don't know how long this manager story will last, but it should be for more than one season. Hope you enjoy.

Targets
  • To lift the Serie A trophy
  • To lift the Coppa Italia trophy
  • To lift the Italian Super Cup trophy
  • To lift the UEFA Champions League trophy
  • To lift the European Super Cup

August 2013 Report

Overall I think this month can't really be judged due to how limited the amount of matches we have had. Our pre-season consisted of five games however that was testing tactics and getting squad selection correct, players were leaving the club mostly therefore made it hard for team cohesion to become existent. We lifted the Italian Super Cup, which completes one of my targets for this story already. Our league match, to be honest, was quite disappointing as I felt we had control over the match however choked in the last 10 minutes.

Completed Fixtures

Looking at the fixtures that were given to us, generally we shouldn't haven't lost any. I am disappointed with the defensive capabilities as we were only able to hold two clean sheets out of seven matches. The two defeats were very disappointing as I felt Chivas USA was a beatable team, the fact that it was televised made it even more humiliating. The Super Cup Final was a particular highlight with Carlos Tevez netting two goals and Fernando Llorente finding the back of the net, to win us the Super Cup, a good performance in that match. Tevez and Llorente's form continued into the league match against Fiorentina when they both found the back of the net however, defensively in the last 10 minutes was a big let down and cost us an additional two points.

Key Player

Carlos Tevez to me was the difference maker in the final two games. He played phenomeonal against Lazio and Fiorentina picking up three goals in two appearances. He was one of my considerations for transferring to another club however, after the games he's played I've re-considered and decided he will be staying at Juventus until after the World Cup; this will allow me to find a hot prospect that could live up to the finishing and striking capabilities of Carlos Tevez.

Season statistics:
Appearances - 3
Goals - 4
Assists - 2
Player Of The Match - 2
Pass Completion - 79%
Average Rating - 7.77

League

Early stages of the League Table means nothing, it all matter who is at the end and where you finish. We currently sit a comfortable eighth place with a plus one goal difference. Bitter rivals A.C. Milan, Inter and Roma are above us however, our future fixtures should change the league table different in the upcoming months. One of my targets is to win the Champions League and this will prove to be difficult due to the group that I have been unfortunately placed in. Other targets like winning the EURO Super Cup and Club World Championship follow the Champions League victory making these targets impossible to get without winning the biggest European competition.

Confidence

The confidence is very important for Juventus in my opinion, as a new manager for this club, I am required to win the Serie A and finish in the Semi Finals for the Champions League. They're my only requirements for this club. This is challenging because I am forced to win the league, in order to have my contract renewed and I have to focus on the Italian Cup as that is one of my targets. Overall, it's fairly average and not much can be said about it because it's very, very early.

Manager's message

Overall, this month was satisfactory in my opinion. The pre-season wasn't amazing due to us suffering two losses to Liverpool and Chivas USA. The start to the season, one of my big goals and possibly the most challenging, winning the Serie A didn't have a fantastic start with a draw to Fiorentina. But, then again, it's only the beginning to a long and hopefully successful career at Juventus.

Future Fixtures

Until next time,
Louis Basham.
dude forget pre season, thats the warm up, you nailed it when you needed to! I can imagine Llorente and Tevez being fucking deadly up front! :) nice update and liking this story too. 1 of like 6 new stories that have started excellently

Transfers and Tactics

Transfers

In this transfer window, you didn't see a lot of transfer activity for Juventus bringing in players. I only brought in Tomas Martinez from River because in the future we will have no AMC's due to Pirlo and Vidal most likely retiring or perhaps, moving onto other clubs. He will most likely be the younger replacement for these players as he has a good potential ability.

Regarding the players that have left, I put a few players out on loan including the new addition Tomas Martinez to allow him to get some development and first-team experience. I let go Bonucci for a big fourteen million to Manchester City and I let Caceres to Everton for seven million. I found that these players were just back-ups due to the main positions being occupied. I also found that it was probably the best time they could leave, due to them probably not developing anymore due to them ageing. These transfers will go towards January transfer window in which I will build my team for the next season.

Tactics

This tactic is very complicated to understand and difficult for the players to adapt to especially. However, once at full familiarity, the tactic is just a scoring monster. This is a similar tactic to what I used with other saves like Liverpool or Manchester City, due to Manchester City not having very much talent on the wings. Manchester City and Juventus have similar squads with not many wide players. This tactic is meant to keep the ball through the middle of the pitch, and to just overcrowd the mid-field with our players making it nearly impossible for the opposition to hold possession.

This tactic also compliments the attacking force that Juventus posses. I have a very similar approach to Juventus like my Arsenal story. If you're looking to win a title or qualify for the Champions League, you're looking at about 70 odd goals. Juventus has two 20 goal strikers - Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente. We still need to get 30 goals from somewhere else. So what I like to do is a bit more on set-peices, make my mid-fielders attack more because if the other players don't contribute, you don't push on.

Autumn 2013 Report

This is where the magic begins. My main goal for every single year will be to win the league with Juventus because that is where I could pick up easy points to get myself into the Hall Of Fame (arguably the hardest goal). Let's see if I've progressed in the last 3 months.

Completed Fixtures

As you can see and witness, we were very, very successful in everything. The Champions League, we defeated Real Madrid away from home and we also defeated PSG twice. The Serie A, I felt we could have got a bit more because we absolutely dominated the game against Inter, however, it ended in a draw which stops us from getting an additional two points. There is no losses which is very good because we're progressing through the league and every match we are gaining points. In nearly every league game we are scoring a heap of goals, for example we defeated Udinese by six goals. We defeated Lazio five-one. We defeated Napoli five-zero. These are big competitive matches and I am very proud to say that we conquered against tough oppositions like them type of teams.

Key Player

Llorente has been absolutely spectacular so far this season, along side Carlos Tevez, however Carlos Tevez is now currently injured. Llorente scored multiple goals in fixtures like Lazio, Napoli, Anderlect and Udinese. In them four games, he scored eleven goals! That's more than three-quarters of the squads total goals currently. Llorente has been nominated for the World Player Of The Year this year also.

Season statistics:
Appearances - 20
Goals - 17
Assists - 11
Player Of The Match - 4
Pass Completion - 79%
Average Rating - 7.82

League

As you can see, we are ahead by a massive amount of points with zero losses so far this season. We have a huge thirty goal difference due to our attacking capabilities being so high and also training Vidal into a more attacking player (adapting him to play in the final third). Disappointing Roma, Udinese and Inter sink to the bottom of the table and that could be a contributing factor to our success.

Confidence

Nothing much has changed since the August report unfortunately. Squad harmony and financial stability has improved, meaning the board have a high confidence in me in these areas. The transfers could be explained for the 'wages' section due to me releasing and selling players with a high wage, this will give the club more profit. The squad harmony is simply, we have been winning games therefore morale rises due to them being able to win games under my management.

Manager's message

These three months have been a very surprising turn of events with us being undefeated especially. Hopefully, the winning matches continues and goals can be fulfilled. In the next few months the Italian Cup will be a focus to achieve another goal, this could lead to our squad having fitness troubles and could lead to a downfall in the league. Due to our comfortable start though, this doesn't concern me too much as we are very far ahead to any opposition.

Future Fixtures

Until next time,
Louis Basham
great season so far mate!

Winter 2013 Report

In Autumn, we were doing especially well and we were undefeated. However, due to the additon of Champions League matches and Italian cup matches, the question is can Juventus go again? Let's find out.

Completed Fixtures

The Serie A (the league) form continued from Autumn with the undefeated streak, however the reign ended to Bologna on the 8th of February, one plus would be that youngster Jerome Sinclair finding the net. We got completely destroyed by Real Madrid at our home stadium four-one but, we had already qualified for the knockout stages, in which we drew against Celtic. We defeated Celtic by two goals with Paul Pogba and Fernando Llorente getting the winning goals. Juventus defeated the likes of A.C. Milan, Roma, Napoli and Lazio very comfortably in the league. This could be because of the tactics in place, or could be the ability of the players.

Key Player

Stephan Lichtsteiner was absolutely incredible this Winter, his work-rate and determination attributes really showed this Winter. He has been creating and scoring goals as a defender! He got three goals in a row at one point, Parma, Cagliari and Fiorentina. He has been very consistent this Winter, he's been killing team after team, including Celtic, Napoli, Milan and Roma. All very big games in the league and Champions League, he's proved to be a key player in the team, and he is helping me achieve my goals at Juventus.

Season statistics:
Appearances - 25
Goals - 8
Assists - 15
Player Of The Match - 4
Pass Completion - 78%
Average Rating - 7.52

League

Looking at the league, right now, we are in a very comfortable lead of fourteen points. It looks like we are to win the Serie A at this point. The other supposed title contenders of A.C. Milian, Roma, Napoli and Inter have under-achieved and sunk below there expectations, which is very disappointing to see. Fiorentina is looking to where they should be, in the eighth position as they're expected to finish sixth, with a little push in management they will succeed expectations. They are a good bunch of players and should be in the top five. Napoli is expected to be second instead is stuck in thirteenth however, new manager Andre-Villa Boas has taken over and they should be on the rise.

Manager's message

Overall, Winter was a success in my opinion. There was a few blimps in losses however, that was expected because nothing lasts forever. It's looking as if we're going to win the league and we're in a comfortable position to advance in the Champions League. I expect to win the league this season, that is the minimum and it would be bonuses to take home the Champions League and the Italian Cup, however, if not, they will be my main objectives next season. Right now, I am planning my next season transfers and changes, it looks as if Carlos Tevez might be forced to leave, he's been talking to the press about my poor team-talks and I will not have this. If things do not change a 28 million asking price will be on his head.

Spring 2013 Report

The finale to the season and what a season it was! Seriously, this season was intense especially Champions League and the Coppa Italia cup. The league victory was expected as Juventus are Serie A champions once more, three times in a row and we won it confidently.

Completed Fixtures

Spring time was electrifying. We were crowned Champions Of Europe by defeating SLB three-one with Carlos Tevez scoring two and Giovinco scoring in the fifty-fourth minute. We were crowned Serie A champions with an impressive run to finish it off however losing to rivals A.C. Milan dented this season's record. We drew against Real Madrid in the quarter finals and defeated them four-two on aggregate, then we conquered Italian rivals - A.C. Milan in the semi final. The one downside was losing to Napoli in the Italian Cup Final, this was very unfortunate because I was very close to completing a goal early.

Key Player

Sebastian Giovinco really opened my eyes this Spring. He was transfer listed in both transfer windows but no offers came in and I felt he was a waste of wages. However, after a minor injury of Llorente, he shows his true quality. He achieved a hat trick against Real Madrid away from home, he achieved another hat trick and Chievo, he scored two goals against Genoa and Parma, he finally scored in the Champions League final which submits our win which was fantastic. He wasn't played in his natural position at all, he was played as an attacking-midfielder which shows his dedication to prove his manager wrong.

Season statistics:
Appearances - 17
Goals - 14
Assists - 3
Player Of The Match - 3
Pass Completion - 75%
Average Rating - 7.58

League

As expected, Juventus are Serie A champions once more. Following us with thirteen-points behind is a fantastic Fiorentina, also qualififying for Champions League next season is Bologna which is surprising as they slightly surpass A.C. Milan in fourth place. Disappointing Napoli and Roma has under-achieved greatly as they're positioned fifth and sixth. Relegated teams especially Genoa, they generally don't deserve and don't belong in the Serie A league with an amazing thirty losses and over a hundred goals conceded. Inter Milan was another surprise and now regarded as a mid-table team, it was really surprising concerning they have gone eleven games undefeated currently.

Confidence

Again, it is expected that Squad Harmony and Champions League would be especially high due to our fantastic success in the great European competition. In my opinion, I feel the Serie A should be higher as we won it with pure confidence and didn't leave top spot for thirty-three games. My job status rose because I was offered a contract with a significantly higher amount of money.

Manager's message

The end to a successful first season with Juventus. There is no time for breaks unfortunately, I must build towards the next season as soon as possible. New signings for midfield will be required as I only have three natural playing there, Vidal and Marchisio are getting old so I need to get younger players to replace them urgently. Next season, I would like to win the Coppa Italia, that is a must almost, however the Serie A will get me easy points into the Hall Of Fame. Again, the most challenging will be the Champions League, if we can retain the title, that will be my biggest challenge next season. Now, we goto the reward ceremony.

Until next time,
Louis Basham.
SLB vs Juventus seems more like a Europa League tie than a Champions League final LOL. congratulations nonetheless and well done on your comfortable league win :) Great season overall!
2014-05-30 16:38#177611 ARSENAL_ruleZ : SLB vs Juventus seems more like a Europa League tie than a Champions League final LOL. congratulations nonetheless and well done on your comfortable league win :) Great season overall!

Thank you :) SLB defeated Man City, Leverkusen and Galatasaray to get to the final.

Transfers 2014

There is a massive amount of activity in this transfer window mainly because I have a larger transfer budget and I felt it was perfect timing to re-shape Juventus into the future of football. I loaned out youngers in order to get first time experience such as Mitrovic and Sinclair (they are my number one future superstars). I, however sold some ageing and unwanted players such as Kwadwo Asamoah, Stephen Lichsteiner and Andrea Barzagli.

I brought in a total of 61 million worth of hot prospects like Christian Tello, Eder Alvarez Balanta, Niklas Sule and many more. These seven hot prospects will hopefully drive Juventus into further winning in the upcoming five or even ten years. I chose these seven because I have heard good reviews about these players and about how they're future wonderkids, which ultimately persuaded me to purchase them, some high and some arguable low prices.

Pre-Season and Autumn Report

The beginning of the season has finally arrived after a long break of approximately six weeks. But nevertheless, the expectations remain the same of winning the Serie A and going the distance in the Champions League. However, a big priority will be to win the Domestic Main Cup as that will submit another great aim and complete it indefinitely. Although, looking at the current targets this could be the final season regarding winning the trophies.

Completed Fixtures

This was a fantastic start/opening to the season with us going on a ten winning streak however Cagliari gave us a huge match-up and contest, drawing in a thrilling three-three clash, with our two hot prospects Alvaro Vadilio and Saverio Madrigali picking up the goals for us. In other clashes we completed a target on lifting the European Super Cup by defeating a wreckless Tottenham two-zero with again, two hot prospects Alvaro Vadilo and Tomas Martinez netting the goals for us.

Key Player

The key player this quarter of the season is none other then Eder Alvarez Balanta. This guy has been a rock in defence for Juventus and has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. He has been asked to play in a multiple of positions such as a defensive midfielder, a central defender and a left wingback which shows he is versatile as he has been successful in all positions with a 7.37 average rating. His performance on the pitch is only one of the elements why he is top Key Player this quarter, his training and growth is truly phenomenal as well. The exposure to first-team football has apparently raised his attributes further and it reflects upon his performances on the pitch.

Season statistics:
Appearances - 19
Goals - 3
Assists - 0
Player Of The Match - 1
Pass Completion - 79%
Average Rating - 7.37

League

The league is what to be expected. I was expecting the top six to be where they are however in different positions. I expected A.C. Milan to be in the top three and title contend due to there high results in the beginning of the season, they also secured a victory over us during pre-season. I was also expecting Napoli to really be on our tail and to really challenge us this season, however, as it looks, our undefeated streak looks to carry on and I will secure my second Serie A title come Summer.

Confidence

Confidence is key in this game. If you do not have the board's confidence you are more likely to be sacked and fired. I kept my squad happy which adds to the contributing factor if I keep my job or not. The high wages show they have confidence in me in managing the clubs finances and wage budget. Apparently I have raised the club stature which is always a good thing. On the other hand, they were not too happy of my transfers with being unhappy about some players leaving.

Manager's message

Overall, this quarter was a massive success. We qualified for the Champions League knockout stages and we are undefeated in the Serie A while defeating the likes of Inter and Fiorentina. The board confidence is high which I will be expecting a new contract to be offered to me. The players are performing well with Carlos Tevez netting twelve goals out of thirteen appearances. The lack of Llorente in the squad can be seen as a worry as he is suffering from injury, unfortunately.
