Gladbach has secured the signature of Hoffenheim center midfielder on a pre-contract who will join the club this summer. Haynes was asked about this signing and what he can bring to the squad and he said "Rudy is a player of great quality and we are excited to have secured this singing as it will add depth to our squad for the next season as we compete in European football."

Season In Review 2013-2014
In a season of highs and lows. After the first three months it looked like the Champions League was a possibility for this overacheiving squad after being second in the league after November including a 1-0 victory over FC Bayern during the hot streak. Due to a very disapointing December, January and early Febuary where the club only had one win in a nine game stretch including a loss to second division team FC Koln in the third round of the German Cup.
Down the home stretch of the season Gladbach were able to put together just enough good results to qualify for Europa League including a thrilling 2-1 win over Hoffenheim on the very last day of the season to see us through to the Europa League.

Gladbach Duo Sign With Leverkusen
http://www.express.de/image/view/2014/2/30/26704514,26075194,highRes,maxh,480,maxw,480,01D+21_71-67199786_ori.jpg
Alvaro Dominguez and Max Kruse has both signed with Leverkusen for a combined fee of $19.5 million. Dominguez joined Gladbach from Athletico for $10.5 million in 2012. Alvaro only made 49 appearances for Gladbach before being sent to Leverkusen after a semi-disappointing season last year.
The other Gladbach player who will be joining him at Leverkusen is Max Kruse who netted only seven goals in 21 appearances for Gladbach in the 2013-2014 season. After joining Gladbach last summer for a fee of $3.3 million from Freiburg exits the club after just one disappointing season with the club.
When Haynes was asked about these signings he states "Both of these players had disappointing seasons and I feel we can bring in better players with the money that we have received for these two players but the club would like to wish Max and Alvaro the best of luck in the future."
Some reports are also indicating young star Marc-Andre ter Stegen could also be on his way out of Gladbach as well.
Young Star ter Stegen Joins Dortmund
http://worldsportswag.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/marc-andre-ter-stegen-5-pic-.jpg
The young Gladbach star has agreed to a deal with German champions Borussia Dortmund for a fee of $29.5 million though it is being reported most of that money will paid out over a long period of time. The 22 year old goalkeeper is a product of the Gladbach youth academy working his way up to the first team and now earning himself a move to a big club. Ter Stegen allowed 45 goals in 34 league games including eight clean sheet throughout the 2013-2014 season.
We caught up to Haynes after training and asked him why this transfer happened and he said "Marc-Andre's contract was expiring in the one year and he made it clear to us that he was not going to resign with us so the only option we had was to sell him. But he deserves a move to a big club, we will eventually be a club of that stature but not at this point in time and he has worked hard for our team for over the years he's been. I wish him the best of luck at his new club but now we need to look forward." It has been reported Asmir Begovic, Michel Vorm and Yann Sommer could be ter Stegen's replacement.
Four Join Gladbach
Gladbach are pleased to announce the singing of four key players for next years campaign. Haynes has made it very clear that we is looking toward the future with these signings as the average age of the four signings is a little over 23 years old.
After the departure of ter Stegen there were big shoes that needed to be filled and Haynes chose Bosnia-Herzegovina international Asmir Begovic. Asmir comes from Stoke City for a reported fee of $5 million, $2.5 million of which will be paid out over 4 years., Begovic picked up seven clean sheets during last season in the Barclay's Premier League.
A big flaw in the Gladbach squad last season was defending and after Dominguez left for Leverkusen help was needed in the back. Haynes looked to 21 year old Tomas Kalas from Chelsea who spent last season with Hoffenheim earning himself a spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Season. Still feeling there was a whole in the back and needing more depth to compete in both the Euro Cup and the Bundesliga Gladbach signed Stefen Denswil from Axaj who made two appearances with Ajax before being loaned out to Russian side Volga.
Earlier in the transfer window ex Gladbach striker joined Leverkusen so Haynes decided that 24 year old and Scottish international Jordan Rhodes will be the man to fill the void up front. Last year with Blackburn Rhodes had 22 goals in the 2013-2014 season. Rhodes has also recorded 19 appearances with Scotland scoring seven times.
In a press conference Haynes was asked about his new signings and he said "I'm delighted with all of these signings, they will all be making a lot of appearances for the club over the next many years and I think they all of potential and can help us get to our eventual goals that we have for this club." Haynes was also asked if he was done dealing in this transfer window "I'm done dealing this transfer window as we don't have anymore funds available, if we sell a player or two than yes we will still be active but as of right now we are done with signings for awhile."
Herrmann Joins Hoffenheim
http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/590x/176448933-436735.jpg
Patrick Herrmann as agreed to switch to fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for a fee of $9.5 million. This comes as a little bit of a shock transfer as Haynes has said that he is done dealing and also he commitment to younger players as Herrmann is only 23. A reason on why he may have been moved out is due to the emergence of Amin Younes who broke out as last season when Herrmann was sidelines with a big injury. Haynes was asked if there will be a replacement for Herrmann and Haynes said "We will need to fill the void left my Herrmann though I have not started looking for a replacement as of right now."
Another Youngster Joins Gladbach
http://cdn.tuteve.tv/files/2013/09/25/yordy_reyna_-gepa-_05-sdarc-6219120_0.jpgGladbach have signed a replacement for Herrmann as they turn to RB Salzburg again after signing Sadio Mane from them last year. This time they sign 20 year old Pervuian right winger Yordy Reyna has signed a deal with Gladbach. Yordy had five goals in 14 appearances for Salzburg last season.

Sadio Mane had a great month and has started the season off right by scoring two goals and two assists in the month of August
I'm looking toward the future with these signings. My attacking midfield players have played very well since joining our club but our defenders and goalies have not done so well as they will need to pick it up in order for this club to move forward. Also 18 year old Gabriel Barbosa was selected to the senior Brazilian squad for their upcoming friendlies.

After selling some major players from last years team I feel like I got a fair price for them and I'm very happy with how this transfer window went in general.
We got drawn into Group F along with PSV, FC Kobenhavn and Bursapor. Not the easiest group but a very manageable group and we should be able to easily advance to the knockout rounds.
