Welcome to my first manager story. I will be taking over the ambitious and promising team Tottenham Hotspur. As a manager, I love to buy and develop young players who can become a legend for the club in the future. It will also be one of the goals for the club in this game. So let's see what my expectations are for this season and subsequent seasons.

Season 13/14 Goals:
  • Qualify for the Champions League
  • Spend transfer budget on atleast 1 key player and sign some young talents
  • Playing an attacking football while trying to keep possession

The whole career:
  • Try to win The Premier League title atleast once
  • Increase the reputation for the club in the world
  • Get a high-performing team with heart in which players develop and play as a family

Let's see how well we will succeed
good luck!

As a summary one can say that we have had a fairly successful pre-season, right?

But I understand that you are probably wondering, who's in the squad that could accomplish this? Let's take a look!

Aaron Lennon is out!

Unfortunately, the speedy right winger Aaron Lennon left Tottenham Hotspur! I felt that he wasn't needed by the club because of the arrival of Erik Lamela. I also thought that his transfer budget and wage budget could be used elsewhere in the squad. He was sold to AS Monaco for as much as 26 Million dollars.

So if I sold Aaron Lennon, who did I buy? Let's have another look!

Carlos Vela, IN

There are many talents in the left winger of Tottenham. But it is missing still quality for us to fight against the top teams, so I have decided to take in the attack winger Carlos Vela. I really think and hope that he will be one of our key player this season. Carlos Vela was bought for as much as 23 Million dollars.

http://www.roadtolisbon.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/13022013morata.jpg

Alvaro Morata, IN

One of the biggest talents of Spain has arrived. I really like Alvaro Morata as a player, he is young and has a LOT of potential. Roberto Soldado will be my first striker and Alvaro Morata will be in a rotating system. I really hope that he can develop and take the first place as Tottenhams main striker in 1-2 years. He was bought for as much as 22 Million dollars.

Davide Santon, IN

A talented left-back with high potential. I think he'll be able to replace Danny Rose and I'll even give him confidence as the first left-back because of his outstanding efforts in preseason. Davide Santon did cost as much as 18 Million Dollars.

So our current line-up will be!

4-2-3-1

GK - Hugo Lloris
Left Back - Davide Santon
Centre Back - Michael Dawson
Centre Back - Jan Vertonghen
Right Back - Kyle Walker
Central Midfielder - Sandro
Central Midfielder - Paulinho
Left Winger - Carlos Vela
Attack Midfielder - Christian Eriksen
Right Winger - Erik Lamela
Striker - Roberto Soldado
Very good signings mate! You have a very solid team!

Stoke 0-4 Tottenham (Premier League)

Carlos Vela 20'
Erik Lamela 23'
Jan Vertonghen 33'
Peter Crouch(OG) 73'

Motherwell 0-5 Tottenham (EURO cup)

Alvaro Morata 17', 34', 85'
Carlos Vela 23'
Christian Eriksen 26'

Tottenham 3-1 Norwich (Premier League)

Alvaro Morata 33'
Davide Santon 43', 58'
Robert Snodgrass 67'

Tottenham 0-1 Motherwell (EURO cup)

John Sutton 32'

Hull 2-1 Tottenham (Premier League)

Tom Huddlestone 12'
George Boyd 15'
Andros Townsend'

-------------------

We've made it pretty good job so far. The match against Motherwell was mostly reserves and U19 players who played so I can accept the loss. But I still think we should have won the match against Hull, we had the most passes in the team but the finishes were not as intended.

-------------------
So how do we summarize the beginning of the season?

Davide Santon, Left-Back

Davide Santon has been fantastic in the early season. He has played 5 of 5 matches from start and has scored 3 goals as a left back and has the highest point average of 7.47 per game. His completing passes has reached such a high percentage of 83%. I think Davide Santon has been absolutely outstanding so far and we'll see how he continues to dominate Tottenham's defense.

Alvaro Morata, Striker

Alvaro Morata has also been outstanding so far in the season. Although he has just started 1 of 5 matches. The other four games, he has been coming off the bench. But though he only started one game, he still managed to scored 4 goals in those five games. He also has the second-highest point average of 7.55. He has scared all the defenders with his clinical finishes and his ability to use his head on exit. He has completely eclipsed Roberto Soldado, although I thought Soldado would fit more in my current lineup. Maybe Morata is already ready to be the first striker of Tottenham Hotspur?

Erik Lamela, Right Winger

Erik Lamela is the player with the third-highest point average of 7.54. He reminds me a lot of Cristiano Ronaldo when he's out on the pitch. He's pretty quick and always manages to dribble past opponents and moves toward the plan and then goes on clearance. I am training him right now to get better at shooting and after that I will probably focus on his speed. Even thought he has only managed to score 1 goals he has atleast done 4 assists. I expect A LOT of Lamela since he's still only 21. He will be one of those that I want to keep at the club for years.
How did you get 26m for Lennon? I struggle to get 4? I end up selling him for 3m because no one would buy him for his value of 12.5m or I send him out on loan which I struggle to do. No one wants Lennon on my saves :L

Haha what? Many clubs showed interest in his signature, so in the end as they fought on his signature, the club who offered the most got it! :)
Some good signings there, hopefully you can push for the Champions League spots!
