West Ham liquidated
A few days after new evidence on the Tevez transfer saga of 2007 coming to light, FIFA have issued punishments on West Ham and Internazionale.New evidence has come to light on this saga. It now seems that Internazionale had agreed to let Carlos Tevez to go to West Ham with the intention of getting Sheffield United relegated, as Alan Curbishley (West Ham manager in 2007) was in the middle of a row between Bryan Robson (Sheffield United manager in 2007). On the final day of that season, Carlos Tevez scored the winning goal to relegate Sheffield United.
With this being an international issue (Internazionale were involved), FIFA have decided to take action rather than the FA. In Italy, Internazionale have been fined €5,000,000 and have been relegated into Serie B.
FIFA have also decided to take massive sanctions on West Ham United. Because of the massive monetary sanctions put in place, West Ham had no choice but to be liquidated. The FA decided to put Sheffield United in their place in the Premier League, even though they were against this proposal. In League One, Chesterfield were put in. Luton were promoted to League 2, Eastleigh to the Skrill Premier and Corby to the Skrill South.
This seems like a punishment on Sheffield United as well as Internazionale and West Ham. There seems like no chance of Sheffield United staying up this season. It lies with the new manager Tom Donladson, to see if he can take control of the club during these massive hardships.
