Chelsea FC: Into the Lion's Den

Welcome to my new FM Story guys! I have not written for a while, and I want this to be an interesting story that I can keep going with. I am using the latest update for data, which means that all squads are updated as of today (1st of July). I will also be using the SRZS Business data, which has edited every nation's youth rating, essentially meaning the new Messi can come from anywhere if they have the right facilities.

Obviously the game starts in 2013, but I will be writing it as though the World Cup has just finished.

Hope you enjoy!
As a supporter of Chelsea I wish you luck and I will be following this!

Hodgson Steps Down

Hodgson looks downbeat following England's exit.

England manager Roy Hodgson has decided to step down from his role as England manager. The news comes only two weeks after England were knocked out of the World Cup in group stages for the first time since 1958.

Hodgson resigned despite being told by the FA Chairman Greg Dyke that he would not be fired, and said that he was 'disappointed that England could not do better'. It still is yet to be known whether Hodgson will retire from football management.

The media inquest into England's exit will now begin.

It s rumoured that Brendan Rodgers will take over from Hodgson, while Gary Neville is favourite with some bookmakers. It remains to be seen what the new stance of the FA will be, but England's squad was not good enough for the World Cup.

Mourinho: I want to take over

Mourinho has caused uproar among Chelsea fans.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has caused controversy by saying that he wants to take over as England manager. The news follows only a day after Roy Hodgson resigned from the England head coach job.

'It is a job I admire very much, I nearly took over in 2007 after Steve McLaren, but my wife told me I would be bored from not having games every week.' said Mourinho.

Mourinho's future team?

This would suggest that Mourinho has had enough of life with Chelsea, after a season in which they won no trophies, despite owner Roman Abramovich's demands that Mourinho win at least one trophy.

Meanwhile, the bookies have started taking bets on people to take over as new Chelsea manager, with Fabio Capello and Cesare Prandelli in the mix, after both were sacked by Russia and Italy respectively following a poor World Cup.
