I'm with my bae, defence appears to be an issue! You can score a goal though!
Great updates! Not doing too badly in the league at the moment, keep it up and push! :)
hopefully that leaky defense can be fixed!

October 2015

Review:
The first match of October could prove to be a vital one in the title race, as Roma met Napoli – who had won all 6 matches, and were steadily in 1st – at the Olimpico. Roma started aggressively, and after 24 minutes, Robben scored his third goal of this campaign. Apart from a few small chances, nothing else really happened in the whole match, and Roma won the match deservedly, meaning Cañizares’ team got within reaching distance of Napoli: 3 points.

The next match Roma played was away against Pescara, who were recently promoted under very experienced manager Alberto Zaccheroni. Pescara started sharper than Roma, and they took a surprise lead after 15 minutes. 6 minutes later, they scored again and Cañizares couldn’t believe how inefficient his team were. However, Roma quickly regained focus and Destro headed home the 2-1. But quickly after, Pescara restored their 2 goal margin: Roma have now conceded 15 goals in 8 matches. Schär got Roma back in the game after 85 minutes, but it was too late: 3-2.

Cañizares had to win the next match – at home against Atalanta, who were in 5th – or else, his stint at Roma could be a very short one. Luckily for the Spanish manager, Roma seemed to understand the importance of this match, and they played cautiously and calm. In the 62nd minute, Destro opened the score after receiving a great ball by Dja Djédjé. This was also how the match ended: 1-0, an important victory from Roma, which sees them getting closer to the 2nd place that belonged to Fiorentina.

Lastly, Roma played Palermo at a full Renzo Barbera. The home team were only one place behind Roma, so it certainly wouldn’t be easy for Roma to win against this solid Palermo side. This immediately showed on the pitch, as Palermo got a few big opportunities. After 14 minutes, Dybala scored the first goal of the match following a big misjudgement by Zieler on Dybala’s shot. Palermo went into half-time still with their 1-0 lead.
The match finished 4-0. Nothing needs to be said, I think. I’m considering quitting and joining another team – making this into kind of a journeyman career . I can’t stand the fact that we keep dominating shots and possession, but we lose all the time.

Player of the Month(s):
Nobody, the team were terrible – nobody deserves this honour.

Serie A table:
That'll be tough to take those two losses. Good luck with improving your performances though, you may need it!
Stick with it buddy! Can't believe that Palermo result, but consistency will come! :D
Tough month, I guess you understand how Petkovic felt now :P
Certainly not one of months! I hope to catch up, and go up as team!
Looks like you have found yourself a decent challenge!

November 2015

After the absolutely humiliating defeat against Palermo, Roma had to make up for it against Chievo, at the Olimpico. The Romans started off very well, and after 2 minutes Destro put the ball into the goal following some great passing play. 5 minutes later, Dodô delivered a great cross once again, and this time it was Robben who tapped it home. These two goals inside the first few minutes were the only 2 goals of the whole game, meaning the final score was 2-0. Roma looked very solid in this victory, one of the only times they’ve looked tight at the back in their whole campaign.

Next was one of the most important matches of the season: the Derby della Capitale, one of the world’s most passionate derbies, between the two big clubs from Rome – Lazio and AS Roma. AS Roma were playing away, and their away form until that match was bad, to say the least. But Cañizares’ played great, and Tello and Destro had put them 2-0 ahead after only 10 minutes. After that followed a quiet period, but 15 minutes into the second half, AS Roma got a penalty and Destro put it away coolly, not overwhelmed by the Lazio fans. Lazio got one back in the 66th minute, but it was too late for a comeback, and the match ended in a very impressive 3-1 for AS Roma.

Another really hard match was next, as Roma played Italian giants Juventus at home. La Vecchia Signora stunned Roma with a very early goal: Tévez put the team 1-0 up after only two minutes. Juventus held onto this slim lead, and the match thus finished 1-0 for Juventus. Roma were finally looking like they were in good form, but Juventus proved that the team still had a lot of work to do.

The last match of November was also a very big fixture: Roma played AC Milan at San Siro. The first half ended with no real dominating team: both teams were about equal, but in the second half Roma started playing better. After 53 minutes, Dutch signing Robben put the ball into the net. The Dutch winger has been a great signing so far, he has scored 5 goals in 9 games. Roma managed to keep this lead until the final whistle, and Cañizares’ team took three very valuable points with them from the San Siro.

Player of the Month(s):
Left-back Dodô has been in great form last month, with the two matches against Lazio and Chievo being his best two performances: in both matches, he gave 2 assists, those assists made sure Roma won their two matches.

Serie A table:
You're doing great in the league, three wins out of four is a solid month! :)
Lol you lost to Juventus :P

Really though, that's a solid month, Tello and Destro especially in good form :)
Good month! Hopefully you'll gain some form and momentum off of this, and go on to win all your upcoming games ;)
Good month ASR!

Unhappy Destro leaves AS Roma for VfL Wolfsburg

Mattia Destro – last season’s Roma top scorer with 17 goals – has today officially announced that he will leave AS Roma in the winter of 2015. The Italian international will join German outfit VfL Wolfsburg for a hefty fee of 23.5 million Euros, this is considered a very nice piece of business by Roma, as Destro joined the club for about 15 million a couple of years ago.

This season however, the striker hasn’t been that great for Roma, scoring only 5 goals in 13 matches. In total, the 24-year-old has played 101 matches for Roma, scoring an impressive amount of 41 goals. Before joining Roma back in 2012, he played for Genoa, after joining them from Inter. At Inter, Destro played 0 matches in 4 seasons. He then joined Genoa on loan in the 2010/11 season, and after an unsuccessful spell there, he joined Siena on loan, where he made a good impression.

Roma released an official statement on Destro, explaining why the player left Roma. A Roma spokesman has translated this statement to English: “Destro wanted to leave Roma because he felt that at the club, he couldn’t reach his full potential: he wanted a move to a bigger club and a bigger league, and he has thanked all Roma fans for supporting him since he joined in 2011.” It makes little to no sense that he has decided to join Wolfsburg, as they are currently fighting against relegation in the Bundesliga, while Roma are challenging for a Champions League spot in the Serie A.

Rumours were confirmed when Wolfsburg tweeted this on their official account:

Roma will now have to look for a worthy replacement for their star striker, as they’ve now only got one real striker: Francesco Totti.
