Pochettino Gets The Boot.

News coming out of St. Marys today is that Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked by Southampton. The decision has apparently been made after disagreements about the transfer funds made available to the former boss.

(Pochettino leaves after saving Southampton from relegation last year)

After saving the saints from relegation Pochettino was reportedly wanting a large transfer budget to push Southampton up the league and challenge a top half place.

When we caught up with Pochettino and his translator they told us this “I couldn’t stay here, the players and the fans are great but when the board show such a lack of ambition its disappointing. The final straw was when the board told me I wouldn’t have any funds to spend, I told them there and then I would be leaving. I wish the new man success and maybe a challenge in the future.”

Southamptons chairmen had this response “Mauricio has served his time with the club and we thank him for his time here. Unfortunately our relationship just couldn’t continue, Mauricios comments on the boards ambition angered us as we feel the club is right on track!”

We got the fans take on who should be the new manager at the club.

One fan said “I would love to have Frank de Boer here he could do wonders at the club!”

The next person we interviewed answered “We should persuade AVB to come here that sounds good to me.”

The final fan told us “I want a young manager someone who knows the club, somebody whoo knows the fans and knows what we want, so maybe someone like Matt Le Tissier, Dave Jones or maybe Kevin Keegan.”

(Frank De Boer a name fans want to see as the new Southampton boss)

The bookies have also had there say on the matter:

Steve Clarke – 5-2
Dave Jones – 7-1
Harry Redknapp – 10-1
Matt Le Tissier – 100-1

We want your say on who’s going to be the new Southampton boss using #SOUboss, tell us who the new boss should be.
Nice start mate. I'm in the process of working on a new story. I posted the title and a little about the club. It's a Luton Town story. I will certainly follow yours. Good luck
So here's my new story after two very unsuccessful stories I hope that this one will be a lot better.

Who will I be playing as?

Southampton

Who is the manager?

Find Out Soon

Why Southampton?

Southampton have to class youth facilities and as a manager I love bringing up my youth stars. Some of the current greats have come from Southamptons youth setup including, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin, Theo Walcott, Luke Shaw and of course the worlds most expensive player, Gareth Bale.

My Aims?

I hope to make Southampton a force to be reckoned with. Hopefully I can take Southampton to winning the Premier League whilst using players from my youth academy.

‘Le God’ Is Back

Matt Le Tissier has been named the new Southampton manager on a one year contract. The news comes only two days after Mauricio Pochettino left the club.

(Now former manager Mauricio Pochettino)

‘Le God’, as he his better known by from the Southampton faithful, was the outsider by the bookies with a price of 100-1 and anyone who put there money on that bet will be happy they did.

Le Tissier played in over 400 games and scored 161 goals for the club and we managed to get a few words with him before his first interview with the club “I am so thankful to be back at the club I love, to have played all but three of my 446 games at the club is great and now to manage them is a dream come true.”

(Matt le Tissier celebrating a one of his many goals as a Southampton player)

This will be Matt le Tissiers first managerial job after ending his career in 2003 (he did play in a one of game for Gurney in 2013) .

Le Tissier will play Liverpool in his first game in charge on August 17th.

We want to hear your thoughts on the move using the #Legod. Tweet us @Skysportsnews or email us using [email protected].
Back at home!

I’m finally back home, managing the club I played nearly my entire career at and I couldn’t be happier.

Mauricio Pochettino left because he thought the club lacked ambition. BULLSHIT! He shouldn’t be at the club if he thinks that. This club is great. Young players like Luke Shaw and Jay Rodriguez the staff and people at the club and the backing from the owner, you couldn’t ask for more. Okay my budget is tight but so what! You work around it!

This was the first thing I read in my new office this morning:

Boy oh boy it felt good.

10:00am

The first thing which I decided to do was call my assistant Jesus to discuss the team and training.

“Hello this is Jesus” he said.

“Good morning Jesus its Matt Le Tissier I would like you to send me a squad report please on the first team and under 21s” I replied

“Sure boss anything else”

“Yes one more thing be at training for 12:00pm!” I explained

“See you there boss”

It took Jesus 5 minuets to send me the report and I was greeted to this.

(first team)

(under 21s)

Jack Stephens looks a good little player in the under 21s I might just keep my eye on him in the under 21s vs First team game tomorrow.

14:45pm

Training is over!

We focused solely on fitness today.

“That’s my main focus” I told everyone. “Get fit we shall stay up and fight for a top half finish. If we get fit now it will show in December and January when we have the whole festive period.”

It’s a pretty easy group of games in fairness but like I said its all about fitness. Our first assignment is a one of First team vs Under 21 game before a two game tour of Germany. We then face Exeter at home and go off to Holland for three games against sc Heerenveen, Vitesse and RKC. Our penultimate game is away to Ac Ajaccio before facing Boca Juniors of Argentina at home.

9 games, in which I want to assess different players, different tactics and the under 18s and under 21s. The biggest tests will be the final games Ac Ajaccio and Boca.

The main thing I witnessed in the short 30 minute game at the end of training was how strong Callum Chambers is. I immediately told him your going to train as a centre back and be England number 1 centre back in 5 years time. I hope he lives up to my expectation.

16:00pm

The last thing I wanted to do now was get a shortlist of players I wanted to sign.

That’s the list a mix of young and old. I really like the look of Jonathan Obika and Jesse Lingard. They could really add depth to the side and play a big part in the future.

17:00pm

I finally left the club . My first day back and it was great!
