Derek Mcinnes appointed as suprise manager at Newcastle.

Derek Mcinnes was last night appointed as the new Newcastle United manager as Alan Pardew stepped down after several years at the club.
This has come as a suprise to many magpies fans as although having a successful spell at Aberdeen winning there first trophy in over a decade and finishing in a fantastic 2nd place to eventual winners he has no former experience in the Barclays Premier League, infact barely any experience at all in England apart from an unsuccessful venture with then relegation stricken Bristol City.
Only time will tell if the Newcastle board have made the right decision, but this will without a doubt have to go down as a potentially dangerous move.Derek was interviewed earlier upon his arrival at the club, this is what he had to say.
"I am delighted to have landed this job. Personally I find it well deserved as my presence at Aberdeen can certainly not be underestimated. I brought them from a mid table team that only looked to be in decline to back to challenging for silverware, were they should be in just 2 seasons at the club, but I am excited about the new challenge and where else could be better than the English Premier League.

Slovenian wonderkid snubs Arsenal for The Magpies

In the early hours of this morning, Newcastle went all out to too sign highly regarded Kevin Kampl from RB Salzburg. The young winger scored 9 goals from 28 games last season 5 of which came from the bench.
Kampl rejected a big money move to Premier League giants arsenal to make the trek up north to join Newcastle united for a fee reported to be 4 million. We caught up with Kevin this afternoon outside Newcastle's training ground and this is what he had to say.
"I am delighted to join a club with the ambitions of Newcastle. For me there was no choice in this decision, I had an offer from Arsenal and BVB were also looking for my signature but there squads are filled with players of the highest calibre in every position and I have seen many players ruin there careers by making decisions like this. I need first team football, im 22 years of age and im not going to get any younger and unfortunately I didn't feel these clubs could meet these demands. At Newcastle I feel I can fit in and become a valuable asset for this club. There are many young talents scattered over the positions here and I cant tell you enough how happy I am to be added to this list"

Ben Arfa on form for Newcastle as Mcinnes first month as manager comes to an end

Newcastle United will be fairly happy with there start to the season. Undefeated in there first 3 games and have looked quite comfortable on the ball as they adapt to there new manager Derek Mcinnes's playing style.

First game of the season The Magpies beat West Ham 1-0 at St James Park as there side were on form on and off the ball as they retained possession for the majority of the game were they were frustrated by a strong goalkeeping display for West Hame. Hatem Ben Arfa was constantly causing trouble into he made a magnificent 29 yard pass to send through new signing Siem De Jong who finished neatly.

They then faced relegation candidates QPR were again they held possession firm against there opponents but could not find the net. Scoring seems to be the only doubt in the squad this season but the home side QPR broke the dead lock first in the 86th minute too send there fans into violent raptures around the stands, but disappointingly they could not contain there visitors for long and Hatem Ben Arfa shimmied past a defender too create space and scored from 27 yards too share the points equally.

The last game of the month was a Capital One Cup tie against Doncaster. Newcastle played a fairly young squad and easily beat Doncaster as Moussa Sissoko and Mike Williamson got the pick of the goals.
Derek Mcinnes, the manager was delighted at this strong start to the season."Im happy with the way the team played over the month. Theyve certainly eased my nerves and i can now feel us starting to adapt together and become a unit. Hopefully we can start to ascend up the table and be in a comfortable position in the coming months."
Newcastle kick off September at St James Park against Liverpool on Sunday 1/09/14

Newcastle continue decent start to the season

Newcastle United continue there good start to the domestic season under there new regime. Derek Mcinnes has been continuing to change tactics as games come thick and fast.
They came out second best on there first game of September losing narrowly to highly fancied Liverpool who are on a good run of form. It was a 50/50 game until Divock Origi was slotted through to calmly finish and secure Liverpool another 3 points at St James Park on there quest for the title.

Arsenal were the next team to travel up north and they were bitterly disappointed when they returned. A poor 1-1 draw were Newcastle were considered the better side for the most part of 75 minutes as Hatem Ben Arfa again scored with a fantastic finish in the 2nd minute kept The Magpies hopes high. Fabriccio Collocini made a mistake he will quickly want to forget as he scored an embarrassing own goal to the the horror of the home fans, Newcastle had to settle for a point.
Ben Arfa was interviewed after the match"Im very disappointed with the way things ended up turning out, we were on top of them. This Arsenal team had no desire, no ambition compared to us and also lacked the quality in the final third which was largely evident today. I just hope we can beat Aston Villa next as thats a must win."

Newcastle then travelled to Villa Park to face 14th placed Aston Villa who were quick out the blocks as new signing Joe Cole finished from 15 yards to make it 1-0. Kevin Kampl then made the most of an error from Villas defence and scored an excellent goal from the edge of the box. It went from bad to worse for the home side as Kampl then won a penalty which Ben Arfa cooly slotted into the corner for his 3rd of the season. in the 77th minute super sub Emmanuel Riviere was set up by Kevin Kampl and secured the 3 points for Newcastle as if there was any doubt. 3-1.

Phil Dowd should be sacked, calls Mcinnes

Newcastle United manager was left largely frustrated last night as his side were beaten 3-1 in The Capital One Cup due to what he described in his post match interview as a disgraceful performance by the games Official Phil Dowd.
"Disgusting. Thats the only word that comes to mind really. Manchester United have got something over these officials. I mean we were cruising, Cisse had just equalised, 10 minutes to go and we were putting the pressure on for Mr Dowd to award a penalty for a one of the worst dives ive seen. He has basically broke our chances of silverware this season and somethig really has to be done, he should be sacked, the quality of match officials at the moment is just deplorable."
Be careful there, snapping at the refeeres could land you in hot water :D. Nice story, just remember to put it in paragraphs, with a space in between each. Other then that, great job.

Newcastle climb upto 6th in October.

Newcastle have really hit top form this month not conceding one single goal in 270 minutes of football with star performers being fastly becoming fan favourite Kevin Kampl and Papiss Cisse.

The Magpies easily beat Leicester City at St James park in the first game of the month 2-0. Siem De jong opened the scoring with a fine finish to get newcastle underway, and the never looked back, always in control and soon scored a second through 54th minute substitute Vernon Anita.

Newcastle United then travelled too Southampton. It was a fairly quiet game before the break with both sides comfortable in possession and not giving away any opportunities. Then came Papiss Cisse. in the 46th minute Cisse one a penalty and smashed it into the corner sending Boruc the other way. 7 minutes later Cisse latched onto a long ball and finished cooly to secure Newcastle a vital victory.

Newcastle then enjoyed a wonderful 90 minutes of football as they proceeded to dismantle Hull City with Kevin Kampl scoring a wonder goal in the 6th minute to the delight of the home fans. Kampl then released another stroke of magic as he skipped past 2 defenders and played in Papiss Cisse for his 3rd in 2 games. Kampl was then in the mix as he sent a wonderful ball into sub Gouffran as he leaped high to score a well timed header and finish off the tigers.
Cisse looks like he's holding a fire in his hand in that picture! It's awesome. And not a bad spot in the table either! Liking this story a lot!

Giaccherini scores late equaliser for black cats.

Emanuele Giaccherini scored a 90th minute equaliser to secure a point at home against a strong Newcastle United side.
The Magpies dominated most of the game and were infront when Emanuele Riviere scored in the 81st minute which looked like the points would be on its way back to tyne. But Sunderland responded well and put the pressure on against United.

Much to the home fans delight there constant pressure was rewarded as Giaccherini was played in and he scored with a crafty finish. This is only the first goal Newcastle have conceded in 270 minutes of football.

Newcastle breeze through November with 2 wins.

Newcastle were the in form team this month as they set the Premier League alight with fabulous performances in both there matches.

There first victory of the month was a rather famous one as they beat Chelsea 3-2 at home. The magpies found themself 2-0 down inside 15 minutes due to a brace from Diego Costa, but Siem De Jong got one back and an inspiring performance from Remy Cabella seen them go 3-2 ahead and secure 3 points after a fabulous double from him.

Newcastle again has to come back from behind as they played as West Brom who notched ahead after a decent finish from James Morrison, but an own goal from Olsson brung the scores level when Emmanuele Riviere scored too secure all 3 points for Newcastle.

Mcinnes brought back down to reality after poor month

This seasons overachievers Newcastle United faced a tough month as December comes to an end as they were in action in 5 games.

The magpies travelled too Merseyside to face Everton at Goodison as 6th and 7th battled against each other. Loan signing Nick Powell opened the scoring with a well worked move from Everton's part. Newcastle had to wait till the 70th minute for an equaliser through Moussa Sissoko which then inspired Newcastle too push on for a winner which came through sub Yoann Gouffran

Tottenham vs Newcastle. A very tight game that was decided by clinical finishing from Spurs as they pushed past Newcastle 2-0. Adebayor was the first too score with an easy header in the 51st minute which was followed by a good finish from Andros Townsend as he put The Magpies too sleep.
Man City were the next team to beat Newcastle. Both strikers hit the target as Sergio Aguero scored with a neat finish on the edge of the area, followed up by a header from point blank range from Alvaro Negredo.

2 further defeats too Stoke and Swansea away from home seen Newcastle near the end of the month which they finished with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace which seen them move back into 6th position.
