Looking really strong in the centre-back region, and alot of potential in attack. Gladbach look in good stead for the future. Will Hughes had a quite season, fully deservant of the POTY award.

Borussia Monchengladbach have announced the sale of English midfielder Will Hughes. The former Derby County midfielder, who made his first England appearance during his time in Germany, joined Gladbach for £11.5M in July 2014. Hughes also won the European Golden Boy award for his first season at Gladbach.

Hughes started his career at Derby County as a 14 year old, and grew up coming through the setup there. He made his debut in the Championship for Derby at the age of 16, and went on to make 80 appearances, scoring on five occasions. Gladbach fought of interest from Hughes' favourite club Liverpool in order to sign him.

As soon as Hughes joined, he was a success. Playing a total of 54 matches during his first season, Hughes picked up the European Golden Boy award after scoring 16 and assisting a further 26 goals. He also had an average rating of 7.37 as Gladbach won their first Bundesliga in over 30 years, while Gladbach also won the DFB Pokal.

In his second season at Gladbach, Hughes also had a stellar season, as Gladbach won the Bundesliga title again. Hughes was named Player of the Year, as he scored 25 goals in 39 appearances, as well as seven assists at an average rating of 7.45.

However, Hughes is now set to become a Manchester City player, and he will be joining them for a deal that could be worth £44.1M, with £40M straight away, and a potential £4.1M once Hughes has scored 10 goals for City.

"I would like to thank the Gladbach fans for my time here at the club. It has been a fantastic two years for myself, and I have been honoured to become part of the club's history here. I will always look back on my time here as somewhere I developed as a footballer and a person, and the club here have kickstarted my career, internationally as well as at club level. Lucien has been excellent for me, and one day I would love to come back to the club."

Good bit of cash there to spend on some quality players. Shame he had to go though. Really enjoying the story mate, keep it up.

It's July again, which means that another brilliant season for Borussia Monchengladbach is over. It was another brilliant season under Lucien Favre, as Gladbach stormed to the Bundesliga title, setting the points record, while also holding a 10 point lead over 2nd placed Dortmund.





Meanwhile, Gladbach also enjoyed good form in the DFB Pokal, as they went into the competition as holders of the trophy.



Gladbach also enjoyed a brilliant performance in the Champions League.

Kevin Volland has announced that he will be joining for Borussia Dortmund. Volland began his career at 1860 Munich, and at 17 years old he mad his debut for them in the Bundesliga 2. Volland then joined Hoffenheim for £525k.

Volland made 67 appearances while at Hoffenheim, scoring 17 goals in the process. Volland grew up as an 1860 Munich fan, and one of his favourite footballers ever was Gerd Muller.

"I wish the Gladbach fans well. They have become another of my favourite club's, and I will always support them. It was brilliant being a captain here, and I can't wait to find out who will replace me. It is now time for a new chapter in my career, and I hope that I will one day be able to return."

Volland has left to join Gladbach's rivals Borussia Dortmund, who have forked out a monstrous £46M, which could rise to £53M once Volland bags his first 10 goals.
