Advice Needed

is pre-2014 summer signings update:
I'm about to start my second season with Everton a week left of the Summer Transfer window (this is the 2014-2015 season) I finished 2nd last season. This Season I have to Qualify for Champions League or Title challenge (My only two options) contend with Champions League Footie and all the other English Cups I have already lost the Community Shield to Chelsea 4-3 (They brought Lukaku on and he scores a hat-trick with 20mins left) I feel like I am missing something in my team and I am not sure what it is? My team is below.

GK- Howard, Joel
RB- Coleman, Naughton(Loan)
CB- Jagielka, Nacho(1.5mill), Stones, Maguire
LB- Baines, Murru(only just joined up)
CM- Gibson, McCarthy, Osman, Cabella(5.5mill)
RW- Mirrales
CAM- Barkley, Hunt
LW- Schurrle(8.5mill), Gauld(4mill)
ST- Lazacarette(15mill), Keane(Free), Bennett(700k)

I am thinking of loaning Keane and Bennett out for the season and bring in another striker

Players with prices next to them I brought in this summer

It is not the Squad Harmony as that is at full

I'm playing the same system as last season

I played with 6 defenders last season with youth player Jonjoe Kenny(Brilliant young player btw) filling in when Coleman was injured/suspended only reason for the purchase Nacho and Loan signning of Naughton is because I decided to Loan Kenny out to one of my feeder clubs to get regular first team footie more than what he would of got if he had stayed

I wasn't able to re-sign Lukaku and Barry went off to Hull

Pienaar and Oviedo requested a transfer after I had signed Gauld and Murru had come to join the team after Season-Long loan

Sold Naismith for £9mill and was not going to say no to that offer

Sold McGeady for £7mill which I thought was good considering he only played around 15 games

Anyone help me with what I might be missing? I have £10mill left in the Kitty with about 150k Wages left a week

Your tactic sounds very interesting and very successful, may we see a screenshot? From looking at the squad you have a lot of young talent. In my opinion you should let Keane and bennett go out on loan, could suit both parties and may allow you to bring in a senior/ proven striker? You could also look to bring a more senior and commanding centre back? I think just more experienced players, not necessarily 30+ But proven players that you know you'll get a performance from.

Not sure now what he would be worth in your save but you can get Timo Werner for around 10-15m he's a wonderkid German striker and absolutely awesome I had him on an old Shalke save and he was netting 30+ a season he's a great buy you could use your 10m to pay say 5m up front and maybe 10m over 48 months and your 150k wages would more than cover him.

Also if you would prefer a player with more Premier League experience try Stevan Jovetic from Man City but he has high wages usually on the game City get rid of him after a season or 2 and I've had him before at Everton on loan and he hit 24 goals in 33 games playing as a complete forward he was second leading goalscorer behind Van Persie who had 30 goals

P.S Rickie Lambert normally nets 20+ a season on my games for Southampton and he would be relatively cheap also try maybe Benteke and Bony both have the potential of 20+ goals apiece

@Chelseafanfm14 - It is just a simple 4-2-3-1 formation that I have adapted a tactic for that also works for a 4-2-1-3 formation as well but you do have to change the way your team plays depending on the team you are playing, that's what I did in the CS i decided to start off defensive and when I was 3-1 up I tried to control the game more and I got destroyed by Lukaku and Hazard in 20 Minutes

@MancLad1985 - Unfortunately Werner is at Bayern and will cost me around £35mill and Bony is as expensive and Benteke has only played 8 games since the start of my game as he seems to get injured all the time, I looked at Jovetic but City wouldn't accept £9mill for him and he is now injured for 3months

I was looking at Rodrigo at Benfica or Muriel at Udinese do you know if any of those two are good goalscorers both got 20+ goals last season

Bennett has gone to my Feeder Club Ipswich and Keane Rejected a move there so I am trying to look for a new destination for him


Jagielka is all the experience I really need as I rotated Stones and Maguire last season to play with him and then cups games I played Stones and Maguire to give Jagielka a rest. Nacho was signed to add more depth due to Champions League Football I would use a young defender from the youth team but the one I wanted to use is out on Loan and didn't realise till after he had gone that I didn't want him to go


I am looking at a new older striker but I haven't found any in my budget as of yet
