I have recently came back from the Gills game in the Capital One cup against Newcastle with a narrow 1-0 defeat. This is a story about getting another team into the Football League. The team that I have chosen is Dover Athletic. This team has recently been promoted into the Vanarama conference and I would like to give them another promotion. Here is my story
Club History:

Dover Athletic are a small club in the south of England nicknamed the Whites. The club was founded in 1983 after the town's previous club, Dover, folded due to its debts. The new club took Dover's place in the Southern League Southern Division.

Dover's current stadium is called the Crabble Athletic Ground, also known as The Crabble. The stadium has a 5,745 total capacity with 1,010 seats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crabble_Athletic_Ground#mediaviewer/File:PlanOfCrabble.png

The current club value is at 475k with a a declining value. One of the first changes I have made is linking up with League 1 club Bristol City
NEW MANAGER ANNOUNCED

Dover Athletic has announced that club icon Chris Kinnear has left the club after a major fallout. William Brice has taken his place in a swift fashion. This is his first conference live:

“Do you feel that your ambitions for the club are matched by the chairman?”

Will Brice: “Absolutely; I have no doubt that the chairman has the club's best interests at heart, and the fans are lucky to have such an ambitious mind running things.”

“Do you feel that the expectations asked of you have been fair and realistic?”

Will Brice: “If the club is to really progress towards the highest reaches of the game, then everybody has to be ambitious and aim high, and that's what I'm doing at the moment”

“Considering that you are a Gillingham fan, it seems a little strange that you've taken on the Dover Athletic job. Will your love for Dover's rivals cause any conflict in your approach to manage the club?

Will Brice “Look, I realise that the fans may take a little while to warm to me, and that may make things tricky. I am here to do a job, and I will endeavour to complete it.”

“Dover have clearly lost the ambitions, and hiring you has said to be the latest step in meeting them; are you the right person to deliver their targets?”

Will Brice: “I am confident in my managerial skills, and, hopefully, they mesh well with this fantastic club.”

“Whilst some managers are famous for their hands on approach, others maintain a more reserved manor with their players; how do you see your management style?”

Will Brice: “I think clubs works best when players feel valued as people, as well as footballers.”

“It is often said that different managers favour different competitions. Will you be concentrating primarily on getting good results in the Vanarama Conference?”

Will Brice: “Absolutely. The league has to be my priority; that's what the fans want.”

“On the off chance that any agents read your comments today, is there a particular area of your squad that you are looking to strengthen in the future?”

Will Brice: “With the formation that I am going to play, I would like a midfielder.”
MASS CHANGE IN STAFF ANNOUNCED:

New manager William Brice has announced a complete change in staff at the Crabble.

In terms of staff that have left the club a total of five staff have left the club. This includes the Assistant manager, Chief Scout, Head physio, Under 18s Manager and the Under 18s Coach.

PRESEASON:

Over the preseason period, Dover played a total of 16 games. This was used to give players much needed match fitness, time for the players to bond and to get used to the new formation; and also to bring some minor finances into the club. The friendly results are as followed:

Dover 2-0 Dover U21s
Oostende 0-0 Dover
Westhoek 1-1 Dover
Tonbridge Angels 2-1 Dover
LOSC Reserves 3-0 Dover
Wycombe 1-0 Dover
Crawley 3-0 Dover
Dover 1-0 Billercay
Leatherhead 1-2 Dover
Margate 1-1 Dover
Dover 3-1 Watford U21s
Calais RUFC 1-0 Dover
AS Marck 0-4 Dover
Dover 0-3 Newcastle U21s
Dover 0-0 Folkestone
SUMMER TRANSFERS:

For my first ever transfer window with Dover, I didn't sign or release many players. I signed only 1 new first team player and the rest were youth players. I intend to bring in many youth players at any opportunity available. This is the list of the Signings for this window:

Frederick Champion - Free transfer

This defensive midfielder really is something for the future. The 19 year old ex-spurs and then QPR youth product was an absolute steal. Currently a good Vanarama Conference midfielder but expecting to become a leading SkyBet League 2 midfielder.

Craig Snodin, Ben Richardson and Craig Kennedy - Youth Contract

These 3 youth players are regens at the start of the year. Craig Snodin has a 4-star potential whilst Ben Richardson is 4.5 and Craig Kennedy is 5-star. I signed these three to give Kieron Dyer the U18s Manager some players to work with. Kieron now has 6 players in his U18 squad and I'm hoping to sign another 10 youth players on similar contract before the end of deadline day.
