Shock Managerial Replacement At Kingsmeadow

AFC Wimbledon Neal Ardley has announced his departure from the Sky Bet League 2 club after just two years, stunning fans with his unanticipated decision. Ardley is yet to cite reasoning for his decision to leave Kingsmeadow, but has personally called upon his replacement.

With Ardley's backroom set-up, including assistant manager Neil Cox, set to stay for the time being, the 41-year-old former Wimbledon FC player confirmed 1999 UEFA Champions League winner Teddy Sheringham would be taking the reigns for the 2014/15 season.

Sheringham enjoyed a prosperous playing career, with spanned from Millwall, to Manchester United, to two spells with Tottenham Hotspur. The 51-time internationally capped striker netted over 280 competitive goals in little over 750 games.

After retiring at the age of 42 back in 2008, he has recently been linked to a coaching spell at West Ham United, but saw little come out of the opportunity. Instead, he will now take over the former club of his son Charlie Sheringham.

Teddy is expected to officially take over in the coming days, but will begin work with his squad immediately.
Great choice of team and manager! Really nice graphic too, welcome to the site! :D

Charlie Sheringham Quick To Rejoin Wombles

With Teddy Sheringham having been in charge of AFC Wimbledon for just two days, the former striker has been quick to bring another into the ranks at Kingsmeadow. However, he isn't just an ordinary signing, he is former Tottenham Hotspur youth product, and son of Teddy, Charlie Sheringham.

After spells in the ranks at Tottenham, Ipswich, Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace, Charlie eventually made his way to Jack Goodchild Lane following an unsuccessful spell at Bournemouth. After making fifteen appearances, and scoring a single goal, Ardley released the 25-year-old after he struggled to solidify his position in the starting XI.

It is believed Charlie was set to join Ebbsfleet United in the coming days, but with news breaking of Teddy heading to AFC Wimbledon, the Manchester United supporter held out for a return to the Wombles after just two months away.

When asked about his new signing, Teddy said; "I am delighted to bring Charlie back. Having learnt from the master, he is certainly capable of fitting into the side. Last season was an unfortunate one for the lad, who was succummbed with injuries, but now I think he is ready. It is great to have my son with me in my first ever role, but I can ensure you, there will not be any favouritism. He will fight for a place, as will every other lad."

Fans are delighted to see the return of Sheringham, and hope he can now earn more game time under the wing of his father.

Shea and Bignall Next Up For Sheringham

Teddy Sheringham has taken his transfer tally to three within just four days, bringing in two former Premier League youngsters.

James Shea confirmed his transfer yesterday, with the former Arsenal goalkeeper putting pen-to-paper on a one-year deal. Despite loan spells with Southampton and Dagenham & Redbridge, the 22-year-old saw his time at the Emirates come to an end with the expiration of his contract.

Having won both the FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League in 2009, Shea will look to bring a wealth of experience into the League Two side, where he hopes he can gain regular first-team football. However, he will have to compete alongside current number one Ross Worner and player/coach Ashley Bayes.

Also joining the Dons is 23-year-old Nicholas Bignall, last with Reading. Bignall has signed a two-year deal in the Football League, and will also hope to gain first-team football - having made just 48 appearances during his senior professional career.

After spells with Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town, Stockport County, Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, Brentford, Exeter City and Wycombe Wanderers, Bignall will compete with Adebayo Akinfenwa and Matt Tubbs for a place in the starting XI. With two expected to feature up front, it is believed the free agent has been signed to provide cover to the powerful duo.
Very, very nice start to your story. Sharp graphics and good writing. Keep it up, I'll be following! :)
I have always wanted to use Teddy as my manager, good luck!
