Shock Managerial Replacement At Kingsmeadow
AFC Wimbledon Neal Ardley has announced his departure from the Sky Bet League 2 club after just two years, stunning fans with his unanticipated decision. Ardley is yet to cite reasoning for his decision to leave Kingsmeadow, but has personally called upon his replacement.
With Ardley's backroom set-up, including assistant manager Neil Cox, set to stay for the time being, the 41-year-old former Wimbledon FC player confirmed 1999 UEFA Champions League winner Teddy Sheringham would be taking the reigns for the 2014/15 season.
Sheringham enjoyed a prosperous playing career, with spanned from Millwall, to Manchester United, to two spells with Tottenham Hotspur. The 51-time internationally capped striker netted over 280 competitive goals in little over 750 games.
After retiring at the age of 42 back in 2008, he has recently been linked to a coaching spell at West Ham United, but saw little come out of the opportunity. Instead, he will now take over the former club of his son Charlie Sheringham.
Teddy is expected to officially take over in the coming days, but will begin work with his squad immediately.
