breno is good sometimes, while felipe and zapata always have good PA/AB so i just go for them :p.

Anway, stancu realy kicks ass for lower lvl clubs. But there are more.

Andrejev, bicfalvi (great MC just not for top clubs like barca/inter/manu), and if you're lucky Doudin. sometimes gets good potential. In fm2007 he was great all the time. in 2008 i got lucky bought him for 50k with cisco roma. Made my promote first season. in C1/b now. probably end up promoting again :D.

But there are good goalies to that are cheap and good for sup top. Jourdren is one, blanco another (18/19 year old mexican). There are so many good options out there. Just gotto use your scouts. Levadia has some usefull young players that are cheap and good for lower leagues.

Oh another must buy in 2nd season. Jimenez, the one that is at inter. Hes only on loan for first season there and never gets bought by inter. And is so cheap to get. saw atlanta get him for 700k while his value is 1.9mil

To be honest, I've got the same feeling like you.. If they both are THAT good, why have their names never been mentioned in any transfer rumours in real life? It sounds a bit daft to raise a question like that but even a young talented defender like Breno was a subject of transfer rumour earlier this season and was recently bought by Bayern Munich (gutted!). That shows how sometimes the judgment can be quite poor in Football Manager. You simply can't base your valuation according to FM database...

if u have looked in the fm games udinese tend to always have overrated players.

except for di natale who is great.

udinese arent a bad team at all.

They are not described as wonderkids, but they are the object of
interest of many major european clubs. Besides Zapata is a foreigner,
and has to apply for a work permit. Felipe has big PA, but low CA
when the game starts, and has to play at least 2 seasons, to fit
in the first 11 of any major european club.
That's my opinion about Zapata and Felipe.

in the game yes both will eventually be world class.

but in reality felipe might not even be close to that.

zapata in reality CAN become a great player in europe.

Regarding over-rated players from Udinese, I just bought Asamoah Gyan for 10 M early in my new saved game. I don't know if he's also another those over-rated players from that club.

His stats aren't fabulous or mouth-watering like Valencia's Silva BUT as a tandem striker to partner Goran Pandev up front in my Werder Bremen team, he's really devastating for opponents' defender.

Quick, strong, good technique and off the ball movement plus he's relatively young. Very recommended if you want to build a quick, young, counter-attacking team..

I sold all my strikers and bought Goran Pandev and Asamoah Gyan plus Cesar Delgado. I bought also Danilinho after having sold Diego to Roma for 20 M. He's rarely mentioned in this site but he's got some potential to be a quality player. This kid is pretty small but got a very good attribute as a 'tridente' or hole-striker to replace Diego in my team.. :satisfied

ye danilinho has some potential, but there are more players with that kind of potential who start of better if you ask me. Defour for example :p, also if you're lucky you can get VDV so cheap

But that's exactly what i was trying to avoid by buying this dude..

I know there are more players who've got much better potential than him but I am in the process of building a young, quick, counter-attacking team and for that I have set standard: a player must have minimum 15 in pace and acceleration. The quicker they are the better..

So, Van Der Vaart could be a bit problematic because he's not in that category although his skill attributes relatively very high and he can be acquired for reasonably cheap. I'd rather have kept Diego instead buying VDV, but when the offer from Roma came with 20 M for Diego I was forced to get a quick replacement and bought this dude Danilinho which turned out to be a bargain! :satisfied

Oh i did consider buying danilinho but i didn't know whether he was really good haha..well might look at him again decide if i want to sign him. For now i need a good striker maybe vela but that's a tough guy to get or maybe berbatov lol. I'm controlling leeds and tottenham got relegated lol..and bale was already willing to come over haha..

he's not that cheap unfortunately plus he's quite small.. However, just give this dude a spot for first team appearance and see what he can do to your team.. :yes:yes

Besides for a counter team you dont neccecarely need a quick AMC.

AMC can stay relativly far on your own half when defending against a standard situation, and end up giving a key pass to wingers/strikers who then end in a one-one with the goalie.

So just speed isnt all that great if ya ask me :p

i think i got him from fulham.

he was 17 when i got him, seemed kind of a good prospect.

i brought him in, he didnt have a great PA, but looked alrite.

gave him intense training brought him in a match, scored a cracker!

then i loaned him out, to bolton, played regular there, and became a important player for them.

when he came back, my god his attributes where looking great. and even though he doesnt have a massive PA, he does real well.

he is a youngie and came quite late in my game, so it might be one of the "odd" players that come into game now and then, i dont know, he is welsh though.

Yeah, maybe he'll do fine in my squad.

I'm currently playing with 4213 formation and my strikers score goals for fun with that formation (2,8 per game is not bad at all methinks =D). So, maybe you're right when you say speed isn't all I need.

The problem is, I need a speedy AMC to play with my diamond formation because I tend to switch formation on away game to give some balance in defense and attack. And the one who actually screwing the defender with its run is normally my AMC. So, it is very important to have a good player who can dribble and run quick slicing the defense in that formation.. But, thanks all the same for the input..:wink

And RedArmy, there are more players who end up like that. I had andrejev get 20 finishing 20 first touch 20 composure as a striker. And nice technique good speed and pace. But those players do tend to just not score or do there job even with those stats ^o).

And course drama, just saying that for a tactic like that speed doesnt mean all :), where defour has average speed and rest real good i just thought he'd be a good player for that kind tactic

that dude in the picture is from fiorentina(???) Ajax bought him from Fiorentina, but I swear I've never seen him in any of my saved game.. Absolutely weird! :con:con
