Ipswich Town fans are today in complete surprise today as it was announced that Mick McCarthy and Ipswich Town have parted company. McCarthy who took over the Then bottom of the Championship Ipswich in November 2012 saved the club from relegation and finishing in a comfortable 14th position. However with rumors of fans becoming disgruntled at Micks long ball tactics and Marcus Evans ambition of returning Ipswich Town to the Premier League. McCarthy and Ipswich held unknown talks this morning and the club recently issued this statement. "After careful consideration and meeting with Mick. Ipswich Town Fc and Mick McCarthy have decided to part company with immediate effect. We would like to put our thanks on record to Mick McCarthy and wish him well for the future".
Several names are been linked with the club with the bookies favorite been Alan Curbishley. however both sides are keen to stress no talks have started. A surprise candidate has arose however in the past few minutes linking unknown and newly qualified coach and lifelong Ipswich fan Alistair Thomas as an outside contender.
